Pick a Washington DC restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner. It's easy to find restaurants here with an appropriate link to American history and government.

Morrison Clark Inn

Thanksgiving dinner at this Washington DC restaurant will be a five course dinner for $50 per adult and $25 per child. This Victorian mansion started life as a private club with each First Lady from Grace Coolidge to Nancy Reagan as its chair. Start with caramelized sweet potato soup and a spinach and Brussels sprouts salad. Main course choices include roast turkey with root vegetables, stuffing, and mashed potatoes; crab cakes with risotto; pork shank with cabbage, and scalloped potatoes; or stuffed acorn squash. For dessert, there's pumpkin tiramisu, chocolate bourbon pecan pie, or caramel apple bread pudding. (1015 L Street NW, 202.898.1200)

Henley Park Hotel, Coeur de Lion Restaurant: This lovely old hotel is serving a four course dinner at $65 per adult and $25 per child. It opened the year after the stock market crash of 1921 so maybe it is a good place to think about how to be thankful in tough economic times. For Thanksgiving dinner, this Washington DC restaurant has first course options including butternut squash or chestnut bisque. For the second course, choose smoked salmon or duck confit. The main course is turkey, grouper, rack of lamb, or grilled New York strip steak. For dessert, there is pumpkin cheese cake, almond pear tart, or strawberry layer cake. (926 Massachusetts Avenue NW, 202.638.5200)

CommonWealth Gastropub

The War of Independence is long over so try this British-inspired and American-bred gastropub. It offers a special Thanksgiving dinner roast with three-courses served family-style for $35 per person. In addition to the holiday menu, guests can snack from the CommonWealth menu or the pub menu. CommonWealth supports local farmers and will be serving naturally fed turkeys and grass fed beef. The menu includes roast turkey with cranberry sauce or roast beef with shallot port jus, mashed potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, collard greens, cauliflower, green bean casserole, and oyster stuffing and mushroom-chestnut stuffing. Have some homemade pies for dessert. There are also plenty of a la carte British-inspired snacks such as lemon stuffed fried olives, scotch eggs, stuffed trout rollmops and frog in a puff. With your Thanksgiving dinner at this Washington DC restaurant, enjoy the wide selection of UK and American beers and cider. (It's inside the Highland Park residential building at 3100 14th Street, 202.265.1400)

Sounds so good, we're going to be in Washington in February. I'll have to remember.
