Hostels offer the traveler an experience that is comparable to a cross between a hotel and a college dormitory. Staying in a hostel requires the traveler to be comfortable with staying in rooms with multiple people. Some hostels offer rooms for men only or women only, some offer co-ed rooms for those traveling in groups. Hostels can be a very inexpensive way to experience a new city, hostels can also be a travelers worse nightmare if they are not prepared for the experience. These two Washington DC Youth Hostels are the best for your travels.

HI Washington DC Hostel. The HI Washington Hostel is perhaps the nicest Hostel in Washington DC. The experience was very safe and very comfortable. The staff at the HI Washington Hostel was very friendly and offered tons of advice concerning what to visit in Washington DC. The HI Washington DC Hostel offered great amenities that included Wifi, Computer work centers, and free travel tours of Washington DC. Our stay at the HI Washington DC Hostel cost us $36 dollars a night. Make sure and bring your own towels and linens.

Hill Top Hostel, Washington DC
The Hill Top Hostel in Washington DC is unlike most youth Hostels in that it is a converted Victorian Style Home. The Hill Top Hostel is a fairly small Hostel and thus the dorm style rooms are not very crowded. Amenities at the Hill Top Hostel include DSL, a fully equipped kitchen, and great summer barbeques. The Hill Top Hostel is located within walking distance to many of the area sites and attractions and you can stay at the HIll Top for about $26 dollars per night.

Washington DC Restaurants
Washington DC has great world class restaurants. These world class restaurants can be very expensive. If you would like to experience some of these restaurants but you need to save some money try performing an internet search for Washington DC restaurant coupons.     Washington, DC is a favorite vacation spot. We took the kids to the museums and monuments. Wished we had known about these hostels back then. Cheers!

    Great info! I would love to stay in a hostel. While travelling I've met older people who were staying in a hostel and they loved it! Would be fun :)
