Washington, Can You Hear the Drums in the Distance?

The Natives Are Restless and Tired!

Rose Richmond
Across America, things continue to get harder. People continue to struggle more than ever and continue to fall further behind. Jobs aren't coming back. New kinds of jobs are not taking up the slack for the jobs that are gone. People are continuing to lose health care benefits. They are losing their homes and their lives.

Yet our Government appears to be in the same place they have been forever. Stuck in limbo, arguing about nothing. There is absolutely no cooperation to FIX America. It is still all about who is going to get elected next. Who is going to do a better job NEXT time. What about THIS time? What about the CURRENT group of Americans? Will we end up at 2012 still in the middle of a campaign? Will we still be trying to solve the jobs situation and the health care and the thousands of other problems that are haunting us?

I saw on TV yesterday an advertisement for a local Colorado candidate. She was drumming up support for the Colorado Republican Caucus. Her spiel was that the current incumbent idiot wasn't doing his job and was taking Colorado down the tubes. She was confident that she, as an experienced politician, could fix it all. She was polished and presented herself well. Very impressive.....Yea, right! Yet another clown who wants us to believe that they have OUR interests at heart.

Our government is not listening to it's people. They are just fighting each other and not getting anything done. They are proclaiming to be honest and trustworthy and looking out for us. Yet, things like the outrageous health care bill, thousands of pages long, is full of pork barrel crap that has nothing to do with health care. If they truly wanted to do what is good for America, they would take out anything that was not health care and take the abortion junk out, and get the job done. Why are these HONEST leaders trying to sneak and lie to get their home states stuff that is not pertaining to the real problem?

We preach honesty and doing the right thing in America. We preach non violence and have stupid laws for stupid things. Yet, the leaders of our country, from local throughout Washington are sneaky, backstabbing, lying, no good thieves. They play big Washington politics and big local politics and forget why they are where they are. They spend more time playing and arguing, than getting to the tasks at hand.

America is like a lead weight in free fall. Nobody knows how to stop it, but everybody wants to run something. Everybody wants to make their opinion the one that saves the day, yet the minute you give them the reigns, they fall off the horse.

The saddest thing is the way the media handles the whole clown show. We don't even know what the actual deal is most of the time because the media adds too much of their own opinion. From Fox to MSNBC to CNN, it is all about their preference of party. They call it telling the truth, but actually is just an opportunity to sell a book or get good ratings so they continue to get a paycheck and be popular. They aren't actually concerned about you or I. Such as our biggest clown of all, Glen Beck. Man this guy missed his calling. He should have been on a soap opera. He can cry at the drop of a hat. He claims to be concerned for America and Americans. He will moan and cry and tell us why Obama is evil and all sorts of trash. I just laugh when I watch him.

However, it is the continued circus from both our government and the media that is sinking America. We aren't working together to do anything. It is every man for himself. Our leaders are showing us their true colors. Republican, Democrat, it doesn't matter. It is all about, who wins next. The campaigns are gearing up and before we can blink, it will consume us once again. Yet, in the end, nothing has been done again.

Americans, not in government better figure it out. We are pretty much on our own here. If we don't figure out how to restart our own local economy, take care of the spaces we inhabit, and start talking in a loud voice together for the good of America, we are destined to go down with the ship.

Our government has LET our country get where it is. They shipped manufacturing to China and other places and now those places are booming. Thousands of people who could be working, aren't because manufacturing that used to be here is gone forever, it appears. Obama said he would bring it back. Yet we can't get to that issue. Our government has put America on a slippery slope with fate. We better stand up and talk. We better stop bickering amongst ourselves and put the scoundrels out. Is your voice being heard? If not, you might want to consider letting it be heard, SOON....

If you are tired of the arguing and non productive ways of our government, write them, call them.. Stop listening to the constant bickering on the media. Think for yourself....Talk to your neighbors. See what is going on locally and what the real story is. You can only change what is real. They stuff that is made up is only made up.

America is sort of like the Roman Empire. We have gotten so big and so out of touch with the rest of the world, we thought we couldn't fall. I fear that we are hanging by a thread and have a hamster chewing on it.

Wake Up America! This is the Titanic calling...party is over....lights are dimming and I can see water coming over the bow...

Washington is soooo self-absorbed and out of touch with most of America.

I hope the Washington politicians were watching the six o'clock news tonight. Greece is in caos right now because of govenment spending and loans that they can't pay back. Is that our future? I hope not, but I'm afraid it's already too late for us. As a Christian, I want to urge everone to get their lives right with Him and to lean on HIm for mercy. We sure do need it!
