Couple points...first, is it me or did the bright bulbs at the Post and ABC miss checking the calendar? Have they missed the part about how this is still the Pelosi Congress? For the record, as Republican's are the minority until the new Congress is sworn in on January 5th, they are unable to forward any legislation.
So what gives the following Washington Post passage: "Republicans may have made major gains in the November elections, but they have yet to win the hearts and minds of the American people...." How can Republicans, still in the minority, "win" anything? They cannot schedule a vote; cannot hold a meeting; cannot suggest a piece of legislation....nothing! So how then can they "win" hearts and minds? How can such an asinine question even be asked?
And to bolster my point that "idiots" were both the polled as well as the pollsters conducting the survey, how about this conclusion - "...Americans believe that the president is more genuine in wanting to reduce the deficit." Excuse me? The man who inflated his first yearly deficit by almost THREE times higher than any previous? That one? The one who liked his first $1.3 Trillion dollar deficit so much his second budget had a similar $1.3 Trillion dollar deficit? Him?
According to Texas Insider "President Barack Obama and Congressional Democrats today surpassed the eight-year federal deficit total of the Bush Administration in just a little more than one month after taking control of all three branches of the federal government." This article was written February 27, 2009.
So lemme see if I get this...The Washington Post and ABC News, venerable organizations that they are, joined to come up with a poll where the conclusions of the idiots polled was that Obama is better to deal with reducing the deficit than Republicans? Odd. So the man who made our deficits explode for two years in a row is better at lowering the deficit? This makes no sense whatsoever.
I must conclude the alleged random sampling of those polled were all hanging out at the DNC headquarters during the poll. At least two premises of the poll are rather ignorant. Who did they poll? Either those polled are ignorant beyond belief, hopeful beyond belief or Democrats.
How can the party NOT YET sworn into the majority be responsible for anything, good or bad for that matter? And how can the man who has run two deficits in consecutive years higher than any previous president be the savior who will swoop in and fix the problem he is exacerbating by exponential margins?
I guess we're left to conclude the world is different than ever in human history. We can elect a Messiah we do not even know. Those who have no political power are questioned as to why they haven't fixed anything yet. And then there are idiots in the ether who believe the man who exacerbated the problem worse then ever is the best one to fix it? INSANITY!!
The election was 6 weeks ago yesterday, and sure enough, thus far Republicans have not passed a single piece of legislation for sure...bad Republicans! But I could have absolutely sworn the House Majority status does not kick in until January 5th?

Post a CommentNo David, I disagree. I am curious how Republicans who do not yet lead in the 113th Congress, which will not be seated and sworn until Jan 5th, be responsible for anything the 112th Pelosi Congress has done. Will someone explain it to me please? I am exposing the stupidity of the polled who answered the question as well as the premise of ABC/ Post for the stupid assed leading question. So, do you STILL Beat your wife? Get my drift? I know ya do. And for the unknowing, the "Do you STILL beat your wife" is a reference to leading questions that have NO correct or acceptable answer.
Fine objections Tricia, but what of my article's point Dear? I am not cracking on your boy for anything he inherited, hence why I do not write too much, if EVER about the wars - he inherited them. But HIS budget deficits are HIS. Will you ever stand up and accept responsibility for the things your peeps ARE responsible for? Seemingly, NO!
Oh, please, here we go again. Acting like this adminstration had any control over the deficits when he inherited a disaster! You know, I guess the old motto, "you have to spend money to make money" only applies to Wall Street or mega-corporations. And as for "winning the hearts of the American people," the repubs announced their intentions loud and clear, by ordering their incumbent and incoming republicans to block any and all democrat bills THE DAY AFTER THE ELECTION, whether they supported the issue or not.
"end-stage digested foodstuff"; Donald, you RULE!!! Seriosuly, they also hand-pick their 'random' selection of 'unbiased' people. Example, San Franciscans polled about their support of gay marriage will yield radically different results than a group of people polled in Austin. The loaded questions, like "Who do you like better, Barack Obama or Saddam Hussein?" will surely lead others to believe that most Americans support Obama! Clever, huh?
This is hilarious. How could they be so inept?
I agree with Michelle
Do we really even care what a poll by ABC or the Post have to say? Who are they polling anyways? Just curious. They never poll me. cheers :)
Sadly, there is no such animal as truly objective journalism. Every writer, journalist, and news agency has a position. And their writing will reflect support for their own interests. It's human nature. Where does a guy like me go? I'm one of the many millions who see through the lies from both sides of the aisle. There are no honest people in DC, the media, or down at the local coffee shop. Every newspaper, website, television, and radio program on Earth is packed full with end-stage digested foodstuff. Even the church is full of it. Nobody will admit to being full of it, either. That's just the way it is, and honesty is not always the best policy.
Ever watch Penn & Teller's BS on Showtime? They had an episode where a professional pollster demonstrated how easily the desired results are obtained by how the survey questions are worded. I'd bet dollars to donuts that, were I to word it correctly, I could "prove" that you are an Obama supporter, via loaded survey questions. So few want to discuss this aspect of surveys and "opinion polls" either. If/When I bring up the topic in the offline world, the majority of people just want to go back to watching TV. But you see Snidely, that's the problem. Too many people just find rational thought too "bothersome," and prefer the spoon-feeding.
Honestly, I think what the reporting really displays is a conclusion you strongly disagree with.
