Washington Redskins Vs Jacksonville Jaguars: Las Vegas Line & Pick Against the Spread
Struggling Washington Redskins Travel to Play Jacksonville Jaguars
After the Dallas Cowboys game with the Washington Redskins Mike Shanahan may look like a genius for starting Rex Grossman. Grossman threw for 322 yards passing and had three touchdowns. David Garrard and the Jacksonville Jaguars will have pressure to win in this game with the Indianapolis Colts heading to Oakland to play the Oakland Raiders.
Washington Redskins Offense vs Jacksonville Jaguars Defense
Rex Grossman and the Washington Redskins offense will have difficulty in this game if they cannot establish a running game. Ryan Torain has had some big rushing games and he will need to have one in this game against the Jacksonville Jaguars defense.
The Jacksonville Jaguars pass defense is weak. They are giving up nearly 260 yards per game to opposing quarterbacks and it will be interesting to see if Grossman has what it takes to take advantage in this situation. Based on his first weeks performance against the Dallas Cowboys, Grossman could have his second big game in as many weeks.
Defense is not the Jacksonville Jaguars strongest department as a whole. They are getting beat deep with regularity this season. The Jacksonville Jaguars defense has also been below average on run defense. They are allowing 112 yards per game on the ground on average and they have given up yardage to some of the better running backs in the NFL.
Darren McFadden of the Oakland Raiders ran wild on this Jacksonville Jaguars defense a few weeks back. That was not completely unexpected but then the Indianapolis Colts offense ran for 155 yards on the ground with Donald Brown leading the way. The Jacksonville Jaguars defense and the Washington Redskins defense are equal and neither team has a definite edge.
Washington Redskins Defense vs Jacksonville Jaguars Offense
Albert Haynesworth is now gone from the Washington Redskins defense but it has not helped this defense settle into a comfortable 3-4 defense. The gamble to change the defense has not paid off and the Washington Redskins faithful are getting frustrated.
The Washington Redskins are also allowing 260 yards per game through the air and players such as DeAngelo
Hall in the secondary make as many plays as they blow. Run defense is another issue with this Washington Redskins 3-4 defense. They are giving up 134 yards per game on the ground and they have looked weak in every aspect of the defense.
Maurice Jones-Drew is the key to this offense for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jones-Drew has picked up steam as the season draws to a close and he has been punishing defenders over the last five games. Jones-Drew and the running game are averaging 157 yards per game and they are supporting this team. When the running game was held to 67 yards in their game against the Colts the offense was disjointed and out of rhythm.
David Garrard has not been lighting up the scoreboard for the Jacksonville Jaguars but he is doing his job and not making mistakes. Garrard has two favorite targets in the passing department. Marcedes Lewis and Mike Sims-Walker have been reliable of late and the Jaguars have utilized a balanced attack all season long. This offense is in a zone and one bad game will not keep them from making the NFL Playoffs. The Jacksonville Jaguars offense has the edge over the Washington Redskins defense.
Washington Redskins Vs Jacksonville Jaguars -6: Las Vegas Line and Pick Against the Spread
The Las Vegas Hilton Superbook has set the line on this game with the Jacksonville Jaguars as the six point favorite over the Washington Redskins. A six point spread on the home field may be diminishing the value of the Jaguars. The Jacksonville Jaguars are 5-2 against the spread on their home field and the Washington Redskins are 4-3 against the spread while playing as the visitor. Take the Jacksonville Jaguars -6 over the Washington Redskins.
