Red Carpet, Awards Show & Performances Will Be Live Streaming
The People's Choice Awards starts the 2011 award season by giving the voting power to the fans. Industry expert need not apply, except in the capacity as entertainment lovers. The PCA's also give fans an opportunity to choose categories.
Watch Queen Latifah Host People's Choice Awards
This is Queen Latifah's fifth consecutive year as the award show's host. The rapper-turned-actress and former talk show host is no stranger to the small or silver screen. Her career embodies the pop culture the People's Media Awards covers: television, film and music.
Latifah released her first single, "Wrath of my Madness", was released in 1988, at age 17. The Grammy Award, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild winner has been busy becoming a cultural icon since. She turned to acting on her own television show "Living Single." Queen Latifah was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in "Chicago."
Queen Latifah's comedic roles and proven hosting abilities continue to make her a good match for the sketches the People's Choice Awards are known for. Past movie comedies the actress has starred in include "Bringing Down the House" and "Beauty Shop".
Performances to Expect at the 2011 PCA's
The People's Choice Awards will kick off with a performance by Queen Latvia and guests. Other expected performances include Selena Gomez and the Machine, Kid Rock, Diddy-Dirty Money and Sir Elton John.
The host will also perform with Mary J. Blige. That duet in itself should be a good enough reason to watch online.
The stars are expected to turn out in force for the event. Celebrities expected include Sandra Bullock, Hugh Jackman, Ashton Kutcher, Taylor Lautner. Mariah Carey and Carrie Underwood.
