This Friday night at 8 p.m., Brian Copeland will present his one-man stage extravaganza based on his experiences growing up in San Leonardo in 1971. After congressional interactions and grassroots organizations became involved to make a change in the racist atmosphere of the town, Brian's young soul was influenced forever. His hit one-man play, "Not a Genuine Black Man," catches auidences with awe. The screenplay has also been turned into a book, available for sale at Amazon's site. The man himself is a hardworking entertainment journalist. With a morning radio show on KGO AM 810 on Sundays from 9-11 a.m., he stays busy. He is currently hosting a pop culture-style media program on ABC 7 live as well. I was so impressed with Brian's credits that I gave him a follow on Facebook. The performance will be held on SFSU campus at 1600 Halloway in the Mckenna Theatre. This campus is adjacent to the Haight area in the NOPA range of the city.
