BALLET PERFORMANCE
The Houston Ballet will perform a mixed repertory program called Highlights of Houston Ballet that will consist of the following three short works: Stanton Welch's "The Core: Gershwin, the Heart of the Big Apple" as well as Mr. Welch's "Tu Tu," and Christopher Bruce's "Hush."
Not familiar with these works? "The Core" is inspired by the movie musicals of Hollywood's golden age, while "Tu Tu" is a dynamic display of classical technique and talent. "Hush" is Christopher Bruce's poignant celebration of life chronicling the adventures of a family of performers set to music by Yo-Yo Ma and Bobby McFerrin (from the Hush album). "Hush" was created for the Houston Ballet in 2006.
