Watch How the Lady Gaga Song Telephone Helps US Troops "Make a Connection" from Afghanistan

The Lady Gaga Song Telephone really knows how to make a "connection" with US troops in Afghanistan as seen at Yahoo! Music (Stop The Presses!) here or YouTube here. Some of the men stationed in Afghanistan shot a video of the Lady Gaga tune Telephone, using their creative abilities to entertain themselves and the web surfers all over the world. Once again, the power of music has manifested itself to entertain and to temporarily divert from the tough realities of being in the service.

Music, Like the Lady Gaga Song Telephone, Is An Escape from the Tough Realities of Living for US Troops in Afghanistan

What the servicemen have to go through every day while stationed in a dangerous place abroad is something that most Americans will never have to know. It's neat that a riveting song like Telephone gives the troops an outlet to express themselves and have fun. In the video, there are a lot of choreographed movements and homemade costumes that took some thought and time to create and implement. Think of the positive effect on the loved ones of the US troops in Afghanistan who watch this video. It's a morale booster for all involved. How much more of a morale booster for the troops would it be if Lady Gaga herself came and performed some shows for those who have put their lives on the line?

Music has this power to help people deal with the tough situations they face in life. No matter how homesick one is, no matter what danger one faces, a tune from Lady Gaga or any artist for that matter takes the mind on a journey to a safer place, if just temporarily. There's no side effects to being inspired by music of one's choice, one of the best "medications" available. Think of how people choose to "medicate" themselves in other ways when they are in stressful situations and how detrimental that can be.

Because of the reported positive response of the Telephone video, will these US troops stationed in Afghanistan be given requests to interpret other hit songs via video creation? This is a strong possibility indeed. And Lady Gaga could take some fashion lessons from the servicemen as their homemade costumes aren't as ostentatious as the ones she often wears.

Good one Roy. These young men need a laugh, protecting our country selfishlessly.

Oh, you started something with me. After reading your article, I of course, had to watch the video. I watched that one laughing. I watched the real one. Then back to this one and so all night long, I've been watching other YouTube vids that other soldiers have made. I had no idea there were so many. What a wonderful way for some of our soldiers to share with us what they do in their very short spare time. God Bless Them All. I pray for their safe return.
