Watch Life on Mars Online

If you missed the first episode, I recommend you watch Life On Mars online at ABC.com. Yes, the new ABC series Life on Mars is now available online, on demand. What is Life on Mars? No, it isn't about the planet, it is about a modern day detective played by Jason O'Mara that gets injured and ends up in a coma, but while he is in a coma, he is transported 35 years into the past and finds himself a detective in 1973. The two histories are both intertwined in the story line, but he has some severe adjustments to make since the technology has changed so much. With no cell phone and no computer on his desk he confronts a whole new set of obstacles he must hurdle in trying to cope with his detective work, without the technology. However, his hands on detective work is still effective and he discovers something that relates to a present crime he is working on in 2008.

In the detectives new career in the past he encounters a somewhat belligerent new boss played by award winning Harvey Keitel, whose foot is his only search warrant and his heart is the law, (which includes his fists if necessary). If you like crime drama's, you should like this one also, plus this one has the added benefits of showing just how far we have come in 35 years both in the standpoint of technology, but also in crime fighting and womens rights.

If you have missed the season premier, it is currently available online and probably will be for four weeks. ABC normally posts its full episodes online and can be viewed full screen. If you cannot see the controls at the bottom of the page, hit the F11 key to hide all the Internet explorer tool bars, then you can hit the full screen button on the far right of the viewing control bar. On their full episodes, they do insert commercials at about the same frequency as you see on TV, but Internet commercials are only 30 seconds long.

Life on Mars may not be my favorite show on TV, but it was interesting and entertaining to say the least. The first episode pulls a few punches and surprises on you, but if written well, this could be a series worth watching.
