Watch Movies Outside for Free at American Airlines Center in Dallas

One of the great things about Dallas is that if you look around a bit you can always find something to do for free. If you are going to sit at home and watch TV, why not go out to Victory Park and watch a blockbuster hit on the enormous screens outside. With screens that large you do not have to sit close to see the movie!

Every Wednesday night in June a film will be shown at 7:30 pm. You can take your lawn chair or a blanket and just hang out. You can also take your own food and drinks or simply dine at one of the restaurants at AT&T Plaza. Some of the nearby restaurants even have patios you can dine on.

One thing to be aware of is that there are not really any grassy areas other than landscaped spots - it is pretty much all concrete...so during our hot Texas heat you would probably be better off taking a lawn chair rather than a blanket.

Getting to the American Airlines Center can be tricky...and costly...when you are having to park down there. Another option would be to take the TRE (Trinity Railway Express). In addition, DART buses drop off and pick up at the AAC. Get more information about getting to AAC here.

Based on the movies that will be shown, this is absolutely a family friendly event:

June 10th -Get Reel Movie Series: Kung Fu Panda - Animated comedy. Jack Black plays the voice of the Panda, while other voices are done by Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, and others. The movie is about 92 minutes.

June 17th - Get Reel Movie Series: Iron Man - Robert Downey, Jr. plays Iron Man. The movie is 126 minutes long.

June 24th - Get Reel Movie Series: Shrek the Third - This film is the 3^rd in the Shrek series. The movie is 92 minutes.

July 1st - Get Reel Movie Series: Madagascar 2 - This is a sequel to the 2005 Madagascar film. The movie stars the voices of Ben Stiller and Chris Rock. The movie is about 89 minutes.

Afterwards, if you do not have children with you, why not go to theGhostbar across the street in the W Hotel on the 33^rd floor. It is one of Dallas' hottest night spots right now.
