Watching from a Distance

Ever Wonder What You Watch from a Distance..

Mag Inzire

It is the storm of the century. There is a woman standing by the bus stop with a black coat and matching black shoes, her feet are soaked and her hands are gloveless. The bus is no where in sight. She starts to walk back towards a building, and then she enters closing the door behind her. Where did she go? I wonder as I watch from a distance.

A child pulls away from his mother and starts to cry pointing at a storefront. She bends down to his level and starts to say something. Oh how I wish I could hear her words. He has calmed down a bit. She then kisses his forehead and he again clasps her hands in his and they start to drift away down the block. What did she say to him? I wonder as I watch from a distance.

The mailman is carrying a package, he reaches down into his carrier bag and takes out a note. He reads it and I see his lips slowly moving. He looks up at the numbers in front of him he nods his head in disappointment. He places the note back in his bag and starts to cross the street. What did he read? I wonder as I watch from a distance.

There are many people moving along as if in a big hurry. Some are smiling, others are not. Some are talking while others are silent. Some are casually dressed and others are suited up. Where are they going? I wonder as I watch from a distance.

Suddenly I am startled by a car horn. It is coming from behind me. I guess this means it is time to move on until the next time that I can watch from a distance.

I was sitting in my car one day in traffic and observed what was happening drawing my own conclusions. It fascinated me to watch several things going on so I wrote about it. That was what inspired me.

I was just sitting in traffic one day and as I looked in all directions I saw many things happening and was fascinated by just watching and drawing my own conclusions. So I wrote about it. That was my inspiration.

I love this! You made me feel as if I were there with your great description. And we all do this at times, don't we? :)

I absolutely love this. It is very fluid and thought provoking. May I ask what inspired this story?
