For those looking to beat the heat, here are some top water parks in California.

Knott's Berry Farm Soak City Water Parks

Soak City has three locations one in Orange County, one in Palm Springs and one in San Diego.

Each park has acres of awesome water activities. Chill in a wave pool, go down a tube or body slide, relax in the lazy river, play in the kid's area or shoot down the Pacific Spin, a 132-foot long tunnel, then drop 75 feet into the mouth of a six-story funnel.

An all day ticket cost $28.99 for an adult and $17.99 for seniors over the age of 62 and children between the ages of three and eleven. Season passes and birthday packages are available.

Waterworld California

This amazing water park offers attractions for those looking to relax and those looking for a thrill.

For those looking for some wild fun, shoot down the tunnel or open tube slide of Diablo Falls, bump around in the darkness of the Typhoon Slide Complex or ride the Honolulu half pipe, a four story wave. If you are looking for something, a little mellower, then raft down the Big Kahuna, take the little ones to Tot Town, relax on Northern California's Longest Lazy River or splash around in the 20,000 square-foot activity pool with seven slides.

General admission cost $29.99 and parking for non-commercial vehicles is $10.00 daily. A 2008 Single Season Pass cost $39.99 for a limited time, and a 2008 Season Parking Pass cost $39.99 as well.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

La's top water park, Hurricane Harbor has it all and is great for everyone.

Kids can splash, slid and slide or spin around at castaway Cove, a play area of the little ones. For family friendly rides try the bamboo racer, the 7,000 square-foot getaway for teens at the Lizard Lagoon, or dodge the water skull at Shipwreck Shores.

Thrill seekers will enjoy going down the Black Snake Summit, which has the two larges, enclosed water slides in Southern California. How about riding the Tornado, climbing Taboo Tower so you can slide down or go for a wild ride on Reptile Ridge.

General admission cost $29.99, children less than 48" cost $20.99 and children two and under are free.

Raging Water San Jose

This amazing raging Waters is 23-acres of wet family fun. With new attractions, fast slides and family activities, you will not be bored.

Bring the whole family to the Activity Pool to slide and climb, blast down the Barracuda Blaster or check out the new Dragons Den, were you will disappear into the darkness.

Send kids splashing down the Great White Shark, squirt water at the Wacky Water Works or play at the Little Dipper. For those who want to relax, float down the Lazy River with its waterfalls and streams.

Adult admission is $29.99, junior and senior admission is $21.99. An individual season pass cost $49.99 or if you purchase two or more they are $39.99, a seasons pass gives you access to all three parks.

Other Raging Waters parks in California are located in Sacramento and San Dimas.

    I have not been down in a couple of years but when we did go to Knotts I got food posioning. it was horrible kinda scared me of not going back there. This is a great article though with good ideas of where to go for water fun when in California.
