Wave of Glory - a Poetic Manner on the American Banner

Linda Ann Nickerson

Hands upon our hearts, we stand,
As you fly, so bold and grand,
What a lovely sight, on view,
America's red, white and blue.

Crimson stripes and pure white stars,
Stitched in blood and battle scars,
May you high forever wave
O'er the land of true and brave.

We pledge our loyalty and lives,
As our land survives and thrives,
Without tyranny's dictator,
Never to admit a traitor.

Of this, we may all agree,
Joining sea to shining sea:
May we ever heed the call,
Defending liberty for all.

Hands upon our hearts, we stand,
As you fly, so bold and grand,
What a lovely sight, on view,
America's red, white and blue.
