Yesterday morning as I was reading a comment left by a friend on an article that I had written awhile back, I was overwhelmed by sadness. This friend does not believe in Jesus or in salvation or in the Creator God. The ending of my article said, "When I step from this life, I will step into eternity and into the presence of Jesus."
My friend's comment was, "Hey, when it's over, it's over! LOL"
Sadness. I didn't see any humor in her comment because I believe when this life is over eternal life is just beginning. I have had these conversations with unbelievers before and I have even had conversations with God on which words to use. I am a firm believer that we should be salt and light - but I also believe that being too salty or too bright can be a turn off rather than enlightenment.
I tweeted a simple sentence recently, "one sun, one moon, one heaven, one earth, one exit, only One entrance. Do U know Jesus? He is the Way."
I received a private email response that said, "Way to what?"
My initial thought was to just write back, "Into Heaven." But what does that say to someone who doesn't believe? It doesn't say very much. I waited, I prayed, I remained still waiting upon Him to answer me.
On an unrelated matter, my husband is using his unique gift of cooking as his ministry this weekend. He is the Head Chef for the Kairos prison ministry. My gift is prayer, so I signed on to be a prayer warrior at 6 am this morning to pray for the team that will be ministering to the female prisoners. As I was doing the devotionals for my husband and the team, I came across the answer that I was looking for to give to the question, "Way to what?"
The Way to the Creator God.
Look around you, God's fingerprints are everywhere. Psalm 19 says, "The heavens declare the glory of God…Day after day they pour forth speech." The Creator God provided a Way to return to Him through His Son, Jesus. You can dwell in His presence for all eternity or you can dwell in hell. You have a choice.

Post a CommentIt is sad when people don't believe in anything and have no hope.
Nothing like prayer.
Thank you for your positive stand. I've always said that if there was a scientist that discovered the cure for a disease someone has and they turned it down because they didn't believe in it or think it would work, who's fault is it if that person dies? It's the same principle of salvation in Jesus Christ. Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, poisoning not only themselves but everyone born thereafter (save Christ alone), so without asking Jesus into one's heart, their disease remains and when they die, who's fault is it if they go to hell? Only a fool says there is no God, and the same who say there is no heaven or hell.
Fantastic article, and yes, His fingerprints are virtually everywhere.
Good answer! God has you in this person's life for a reason.
Inspired and inspiring Michele...
An excellent article, Michele. I know from my own experience that no matter how hard my friends tried to help me believe in God, I refused to see Him until God's spirit enabled me. Perhaps your thoughtful answer to this non-believer is the means God uses to help this person find faith. May God continue to use you as His instrument of spreading the Good News to others.
I like Phyllis' comment..May God continue to bless your writing! This is great!
You are a warrior that we can all learn from.
it is great that you believe I do too but it still does not change anything for an unbeliever.
the creator God is great as it is general, Jesus is one way, Jehovah is another, allah another, brahmin another and so on and so on.
the hindus have a belief that every path leads to the one, there are different ways to get to the creator God depending upon one's religious belief. And there there is no path for the non believer.
