Wayne Brady and Wife, Mandie Have Filed for Divorce

Wayne Brady and wife Mandie Taketa Brady have officially filed for divorce on June 29, according to TMZ.com. They had been separated since April 5, 2006, which was their seventh wedding anniversary. They married in 1999. They have one child, a daughter, who is now 4 years old. They plan to file for joint custody.

A rep for Brady told TMZ "After a prolonged period of separation, Wayne Brady and his wife Mandie are divorcing, citing irreconcilable differences. The split is very amicable and they continue to remain the best of friends and committed parents". They want to do what is best for their child and both remain very involved in her life.

Wayne Brady is well known for his comedy on "Who's Line Is It Anyway" as well as his many cameos on other television shows and movies. Brady had his own talk show "The Wayne Brady Show" that debuted in 2001 and lasted only two seasons. The show, produced by, written by and starring Brady had won four Emmy awards. He also won other random awards for other projects he has done.

Brady was born in Orlando, FL on June 2, 1972. He began performing as a teenager. Very early on he knew he was meant to be a comedian and actor. He made appearances on "I'll Fly Away" and "In the Heat of the Night" as well as more recent cameos on "Reno 911", "Stargate SG1", "Kevin Hill", "Dirt", "30 Rock", "Wild 'N Out" and "How I Met Your Mother". His cameo on "How I Met Your Mother" aired recently on CBS. Brady played a gay brother to one of the main characters. Brady certainly does shine in the comedy genre.

Brady has done movies as well as television. He has either been in the movie as an actor or has done the voice over for a character in movies such as "Stuart Little 3" and "Clifford's Really Big Movie". Brady has done other children related projects in the recent past as well.

Mandie was born in Hawaii and attended school in Kaneohe, HI. She performed with the Castle Performing Arts Center in the nineties. She went on to perform as a dancer at Nickelodeon Studios, Universal Studios. Mandie and Wayne met in 1996 in Hawaii while he was there doing a musical revue. They named her Maile Masako Brady. She is now four years old. She is the only child of the pair.
