Wayne Newton's New Landscaping Scheme

Mr. Las Vegas Ties Up Some Loose Ends

Imagine owning your own $2 million private jet. Now imagine leaving that jet to rot at an airport because repairs have gotten too expensive, and you're not in the mood to get it fixed - for three years!

Mr. Las Vegas, Wayne Newton, must have had a wake-up call of some sort, because he paid the storage fees to the airport in Detroit, Michigan, and had the plane disassembled for shipping. It is now put back together, and holds a place of honor in Newton's yard. Luckily, his estate is enclosed, but this might be the next helicopter tour scheduled in Vegas.

In an article fromTMZ February 4, 2010, Newton reported he had paid over $700,000 in repairs, but the plane was still not fixed. At that time, he owed in excess of $60,000 in storage fees.

In another plane-related activity, Newton paid off a judgment of ove $500,000 to his former pilot, Monty Ward. Ward filed a Satisfaction of Judgment with the court in Clark County, Nevada, last week.

Aside from the many shows Newton does around the country (see his upcoming schedule on his website ), he also has a long-standing contract with the Tropicana in Las Vegas. If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing Wayne Newton in concert, I highly recommend you do so. He is a pleasant reminder of how entertainment got its name, providing a variety of songs and a bit of musical history to his audience.
