Ways to Avoid that Flabby Turkey Waddle Neck

I'm NOT Talking About the Thanksgiving Turkey Either

Angel Vee
Holidays are coming and it just gave me this idea for an article. How can you avoid a turkey neck? No, I am not talking about the neck of a Thanksgiving turkey, we are discussing that loose flabby skin that hangs in the middle of the neck caused by extreme weight loss, genetics having too much skin, or you could have real loose muscles.

People who are really self conscious might consider a neck lift, why some search for realistic ways like a certain haircut, makeup trick, or clothing idea. Who want's to look at a family get together photo, and see the flab poking out?

Being a beautician for many years I have encountered this problem with many of my customers. Now I am not a miracle worker, but I can help and give advice to what I feel would be right when it comes to hair or appearance.

Choose The Right Haircut

Short hair is the answer. Opt for a bob with lots of layers, or go for more extreme and have the sides and back tapered with longer length on top that can be spiked or curled. Do not go for a length that is equally measured to your neck, because that flabby skin will appear more drastic. You want to take away, and draw more attention to another area such as your face, eyes, or jawline.

Use Makeup

Brighter colors on the face, and a medium tone on the neck. You want people to look at your face and not the flab. Wear a shade darker of lipstick than usual, bolder eye colors, and a nice blended natural looking bronzer on the neck. Make sure the color is not too dark, because then it will be too noticeable. When you apply the bronzer please don't forget to do each side, middle, and behind each ear.

Use Clothing

2010 sweaters are so hot. Don't opt for a tight fitted turtleneck, instead go for something like a cowl neck cape, or twist front style. This way the sweater isn't pushing on the skin making appear more dominant.

Scarfs are awesome. This years styles would give you the perfect excuse to wear them along with your turkey neck. Choose from sequin, pom pom, hooded, fur, and even a Snood which would be a great solution.

Another fun part of getting older! A brown paper bag would do the trick, too. Nice tips, Angel. :)
