You should take notes on the more important points in class. If you do not do this, you are likely to forget most of the information you hear the teacher say.
It is a good idea to shorten the words you write down while taking notes. By doing it, you will spend less time taking notes and have more time to hear all of the important information.
It is necessary to eat properly and get plenty of aerobic exercise. Doing this will give you the energy you need to thrive; furthermore, it can help you think more clearly.
You must get a lot of sleep. You should strive to get seven to eight hours of it each night. It is also smart to take a brief nap before or between classes - doing this can be just what you need to avoid suddenly falling asleep in class.
It is important to not ever study continuously without getting sufficient rest. In order to keep your brain fresh and give it time to recharge, it is best to study for a period of half an hour at a time then take a break of four to five minutes. Additionally, you should take a day off from studying at least once a week.
You must enable yourself to have all the time you need to complete your assignments and papers on time. You can achieve this by getting started as soon as possible.
It is vital to not let the difficulty of a test get the best of you. You should first do the questions that appear to be the easiest then focus on the harder ones. Once you get to the hard ones, you should not spend too much time on them - if you cannot remember or guess the answer to a question within a minute or two, you should move on to the next one. If time is running out to finish your exam while you still have questions to answer, you should start guessing the answer to them, especially if they belong to the multiple choice or true-false categories.
You must not let your desire to be entertained distract you. If you must really focus on some of your material, you should not listen to the radio and watch television at the same time or listen to two or more radios simultaneously while studying.
It is beneficial to read your textbooks efficiently. You should only heavily focus on the captions, chapter summaries and first two or three sentences of each paragraph because those are usually the areas that contain the important information.
It is helpful to multi-task. For example, you should go over your material while cooking.
Follow these steps to be productive as a college student!
