Cleanliness plays a major role in maintaining an odor free house. Don't expect for your home to smell fresh when there are dirty dishes in the sink that has been sitting for days, the trash can is filled to the top or even the family dog haven't been bathed in weeks. There are several techniques to overcome those strong unwanted odors. If you are a smoker, the best advice is, "Do not smoke in the house! ", says Mary Rogers, a peer of mine who suggests that spraying your house regularly with Lysol will not only eliminate those bad odors but also disinfect at the same time. I know there is some smokers out there that refuse to go outside especially in the winter months just to smoke. In that case, utilize just one room to smoke which keeps the odor to a minimum. Crack a window for an easy outlet for the odor to escape and when done, light a candle or incense to bring the room back to freshness.
Scented candles are great for the home especially when you find that right fragrance that captures your nose that leaves a pleasant desirable smell. Scented candles are the most popular home scenting techniques that Americans use that comes in many different scents. A scented candle usually can burn up to 6-8 hours. For your strong odors, more than one candle may be required to use especially if you have a large home. Scented candles tend to bring the ambiance or mood to a home as well as decorative.
Incense fragrances can also be of such great strength it too eliminates less desirable odors and they are usually cheaper than scented candles. It releases fragrant smoke when burn and it usually a slow burning process.
Plug-ins is another technique to get rid of those strong odors. Each warmer gently warms the fragrance-infused gel cartridges so scent is released gradually and doesn't overpower when you plug it in an outlet. One fragrance cartridge lasts up to 30 days and is so affordable. Clean Linen, Rain Shower and Lilac Spring are some of the popular scents by Glade that most people use. Plug-ins is most effective when they are plugged in an open area because it allows the fragrance to pass through gradually.
Air fresheners that comes in the form of an aerosol spray is the most frequently used technique to overcome unwanted orders. Why? Because they work instantly to freshen the air and it is convenient to use as well as affordable. Air freshener sprays usually run around $ 1 a can. Make sure you find a scent that accommodates you. Once you find a technique that works well for you ....STICK with it. Keep it simple. Keep it fresh.
