If you feel blah sitting in front of the television with your children for countless hours, there is a solution. Here are a few suggestions on how to entertain your toddler on a budget. Some of these suggestions are for outdoors and the others are indoor fun.
Ways to entertain a toddler on a budget:
Library - Libraries are great places to entertain a toddler. There is usually a reading day for toddlers at the library or you can even take the kids to a free class at the library. Some libraries have a room specifically set up for children to play in while they are at the library. You could possibly look at a magazine or book while the children play. If it is a nice day outside and the library has outdoor equipment, you can even take your toddlers outside to play at the library.
Park/Playground - Toddlers are easily entertained outside. Whether you stay home in the back yard or take your toddler somewhere to play, he or she will have fun outside. You can get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine while your toddler plays. Best of all if you go outside at home the entertainment is completely free. You will not even be spending gas in the vehicle.
Zoo - Sometimes, local zoos will have special prices on admission. Zoos also usually let toddlers in for free. A zoo can be a great educational experience as well as budget friendly entertainment for your toddler.
Games - Toddlers are easy to entertain. One of the easiest ways to entertain a toddler is to play games with the toddler. You can play running games or hide-and-seek. Entertaining toddlers with games will allow your budget to stretch further. You do not even need to take the toddler anywhere to play a game. You can set the game up in your house or in your yard. One of the easiest games for a toddler is ball.
Crafts - A great way to entertain toddlers is to make crafts. Crafts help build fine motor skills while entertaining the toddler. If you use items lying around the house, the craft projects can be free or inexpensive which will fit into anyone's budget.
Stories - Parents can entertain their children by taking them to the library for reading or if the gas expense is not in your budget you can read stories to your toddler at home.
Entertaining your toddler on a budget can be as simple as reading their favorite stories to them or even acting the stories out.
Puppet show - Toddlers love to pretend. You can help them pretend by letting them put on a puppet show for you or you can help them to put the puppet show together.
Restaurants - If you are on a budget and want to get out of the house with your toddler, a great source of entertainment for your child would be to eat at a fast food restaurant with a play land. There is nothing better when it is cold or raining outside and your child wants to run, jump and bounce to take your child somewhere that they can have fun in a controlled environment.
Play date - Toddlers can entertain themselves or each other. Maybe make a play date for your toddler, so you can enjoy another parent's company. While you are entertaining your toddler on a budget you can also be entertaining yourself with another adult.
Fortunately, toddlers are easy to entertain and whether you use these suggestions or have ideas of your own, your toddler is sure to enjoy spending the time with you.
