Ways to Make Guaranteed Money on Ebay

Simple Methods Others Have Used to Make Money on Ebay Without Spending Much

Michelle Smith
There are many articles describing what to sell on ebay, and there are even a few articles telling you what you shouldn't sell. I have compiled a short list of items that have brought me guaranteed money each and every time I get back into selling on ebay.

1. Stuff you get for free

Not everything you get for free will bring you a profit. It is important that you first do a search on ebay to find similar items. Then you list your items for cheaper. An excellent place to get free stuff (other than the side of the road) is Craigslist. This website has an entire section of items people are giving away for free, right in your own neighborhood. Often the items are full boxes that are leftovers from garage sales or flea markets. Whatever proves to be useful has cost you nothing more than the listing fees.

2. Dropship

Most dropship websites charge you a fee for joining and aren't worth it. IWDSC.com is a dropshipper that I have made money from without joining their membership. Becoming a member has its perks, as you will receive even lower costs for the items. It is not necessary for selling on ebay. I simply do a search for the items on ebay and put mine in a category that has none of the items in it. For example, I once listed multiple cast iron pans in the camping section because almost everyone had them listed under kitchen supplies. I sold many of these without ever even having to go to the post office myself. I listed the items using the picture from iwdsc.com and calculated shipping by placing it my cart on their site. I made an average of $5 - $8 per item this way, even though I did not have a membership. I even charged a little extra for shipping since IWDSC does not list any costs on their products when sending them to the buyer. Considering you are doing basically none of the work I think this is an excellent way to build up some quick cash.

3. Coupons

Okay, so you're not going to make a fortune from this but it is guaranteed money every time. I clip coupons every week and make a $3 - $4 profit each and every time. It may not seem like a lot, but it can help cover some of the listing fee costs. It is important that you list coupons as being an auction for your services of doing the actual clipping rather than for the coupons themselves. Listing coupons in themselves is illegal. Do a search on ebay for grocery coupons to check out others listings before creating your own. This way you have a clear idea of what you need to do. That's how I got started and like I mentioned earlier, they sell each and every time!

4. Yard sales, rummage sales, and flea markets

I cannot tell you how many times I have bought something at a yard sale and sold it for 10 times of what I paid for it. It's good to search ebay for top selling items and keep your eye out for these. Anything with a name brand on it usually sells, and anything you can label as vintage or antique also sells. Be careful not to pay too much for your item at the sale, and don't be afraid to haggle with the seller. Often you can get a discount when purchasing multiple items.

5. Vintage Jewelry

I am not talking about expensive pieces of jewelry here, just simple, old, inexpensive costume jewelry purchases. I frequently buy vintage costume jewelry for less than a dollar each and sell them for $12 or more. I have even sold pieces I purchased for a dollar a piece and sell them for over $25 each on ebay. Look for names on your costume jewelry pieces, as these have the highest sell rate. Some common names are Trifari and Avon. I have made the most money (over $500 in a month and a half) on ebay using this method.

Finally, be sure to be honest when listing your items. Give the condition and clarify shipping fees and a return policy. The more information you give the better chances you have of selling something on ebay.
