Ways to Help Animals Without Leaving Your Computer

Teresa Hoyt
If you love animals, and wish you could do more to help animals in need, you should know that there are things you can do right from your computer that will make small improvements in the lives of abused and neglected animals. When many people participate, the impact is significant.

At the Animal Rescue Site you can click on a link and donate food to animals in need. You can click once each day and sponsors of the site will donate the food for hungry animals. Checking out the advertisers on the Animal Rescue Site will further help by encouraging sponsors to participate and letting them know you appreciate their help.

Visit the PETA Web site and check out the action alerts. Your e-mail, snail mail or phone call can help abused animals. Updated daily, PETA's action alerts let you know what is going on and how you can help in your own community, the United States and around the world. E-mail or letter writing campaigns let those in charge know how you feel about animal abuse. Your voice can make a difference and with everyone's help, PETA has successfully resolved many instances of animal abuse in the best interest of the animals involved.

Visit the Humane Society of the United States and take part in their campaigns on various issues regarding animal welfare. Like the PETA Web site, they make it easy to contact officials and voice your opinions or animal abuse including puppy mills, dog fighting, farming and other issues that cause animal suffering.

Speak. Blog, post and write to anyone who will listen to help others learn about animal welfare and care. Teach the benefits of spay and neuter, proper pet care, the horrors of breeding animals for profit or any issue you feel passionately about. Many people simply don't know how they may harm animals by how they live and the choices they make. Help someone else learn a kinder way of life.

Tweet on Twitter or post on your MySpace or Face book pages. Many issues on PETA and the Humane Society of the United States have easy links for you to use to help spread awareness of the problem. Or write your own post letting your friends and family know you care about animals. Your personal touch may make all the difference.
