Ways to Market and Advertise Your Website Offline

margaret
In this day of Internet, marketing and advertising are almost always done online. As beneficial as online marketing is for your website and products, however, one should not forget to also market offline as well. Here are some ways to promote your website and products in your community.

Promotional Goodies

You should maintain a good inventory of hands-on promotional materials. This would include business cards, flyers, give aways, stationary, catalogs, brochures, etc. Make sure your website address is listed on everything you mail out or give away. Bumper stickers make good advertising items, as well as promotional items you might give out.

Local Publications

Advertise your website business in the local community newspapers and magazines. Sponsor ads in local sports team publications, such as soccer, little league, and football.

Direct Mail

Consistent mailings will help build name recognition for your business. If people see your business name every month they will come to feel as if it is a name they know and trust. But this type of direct marketing needs to be done consistently for a long period of time to be most effective.

Be Active in Your Community

Join the PTA at your child's school. Coach or assist with your child's sports team. Join local community groups or clubs. Socializing and giving back to your community will build strong relationships with others. This in turn, will help promote your business and website.

Wear Your Name

T-shirts and hats are one way you can wear your business name and gain exposure for your website business. Let your kids wear t-shirts and caps as well. Have pencils with your website's name on them so kids can take them to school. Sponsor local sports teams and provide team members with your t-shirts and hats.

Include a Business Card

In every piece of mail you send out, include a business card. Paying a bill? Drop a business card in the envelope. You never know when someone might pick up your card and will go check out your website.

Flyers

Have professional custom flyers printed up, and put them on bulletin boards in grocery stores, local colleges, libraries, and wherever you find a good location for flyers to be displayed. Local businesses that have something in common with your business may agree to display your business cards.

Promoting and advertising your business in your everyday activities is potentially a great way to reach customers that mat have never heard of your business before. Not everyone surfs the web, and even people that do will not necessarily find you. The Internet is huge. Your neighborhood street is very small in comparison. It is much easier to spread the word about your business and website by word of mouth than it is by trying to compete with hundreds of other websites. Just remember to spend some time every week making sure you are spreading the word offline as well as online about your website and products, and you may well be reaching more potential customers than ever before.
