Have you heard of Second Life? Perhaps you have heard of the lesser known Legend City? If you have heard of either of these, you probably know and realize just how much potential there really is available in online worlds to make money. With a wide range of skills that you can draw upon, there are many people who are living entirely off of their virtual income and covering all of their bills with money left over each month. Learning how to become one of those successful people is quite easy, but certainly going to require a lot of work to really make it happen.

3D modeling is one of the most popular ways that people make money in virtual worlds. From sculpting to building, there are plenty of ways that 3D modeling is used in virtual worlds. With many people working on sculpting in programs that vary from free to very expensive it is possible to really work it into your budget if this is something that interests you. Many people also branch out into specific forms of 3D building, such as sculpt work, creating buildings for the virtual worlds, and even creating furniture specifically for the virtual worlds.

Animations are the lifeblood of movement in virtual worlds. Without animations, the avatars that are so lovingly created would just stand around not moving. Animations are required for everything from walking, to running, to moving, to even sitting. Using various animation software it is possible to create animations that are anywhere from extremely basic, to those that are highly complex. People buy animations for a wide range of purposes, for placing in furniture and food objects, to even animation over riders that allow their avatar to have something different than the standard walks and sits that are provided in the virtual worlds.

Texture creation is also very popular and a great way to make money. By creating custom textures using programs such as Photoshop, Deep Paint, and even Paint Shop Pro it is possible to sell an enormous amount of images that are used in creating the virtual worlds. Many of the top texture artists are also graphics artist in their first life and have an extensive array of skills and software to draw upon. However, for those who are not quite as advanced, programs such as Gimp have also gained a great amount of attention as being very affordable but also highly effective.

As you can see, there are a wide range of ways that you can generate money in the virtual worlds, it is important though to remember that this list is certainly not complete, but rather only a few of the ideas that you can consider to help generate money inside of these virtual worlds that can be used in the real world to pay actual bills.
