Ways to Make Money While You Are Unemployed

If you need to earn some additional money and you can't find a job, here are some tips that will help you earn additional cash in some places you may not have considered.

Help a Shut-In

You can offer yourself as a friend to a shut in. Many shut-ins pay for someone to cook meals or buy their groceries.

Refill Ink Cartridges

There are kits online where you can refill ink cartridges for friends and family. Buy the kit and offer to refill ink cartridges for family members. Walgreens charges $10 to refill ink cartridges. So you may consider offering your services for $5 to $7 a cartridge. You will save your family money and time, help the landfill and earn some additional income.

Ask

Ask your friends and family what kinds of products and services they buy and need. Research where needs are prevalent and then fill those needs.

Substitute Teach

If you have a bachelors degree, you can substitute teach for your local public schools. Call the school district to find out more. This is a great idea if you are collecting unemployment, because you can limit the amount of hours you work so as not to go over the maximum amount you are allowed to earn. This has been true in my state, check your state's unemployment rules to find out the specific laws where you live.

Collect Recycling

If your community does not collect recycling, consider offering to collect recycling in your area. You will make good money when you turn the aluminum cans in for a profit.

Scrapbooking

Arrange photos and make beautiful scrapbooks for people you know who have keepsake photos they would like to admire. Most people love scrapbooks but do not have the time to create their own.

Craigslist

Post items for sale on Craigslist. You can also offer your services on Craigslist. This is the perfect place to find one day jobs to help sustain your family.

Temporary Worker

Sign up to be a temp and do the odd jobs they find for you.

Ebay

Post items for sale on Ebay that you no longer use.

Handcraft Items

Make handicraft items like Crocheted Rag Rugs or Shag Rag Rugs out of old scraps of fabric and clothing and sell them at local specialty stores andcraft booths. You can also make knit washcloths, quilts and many other useful handcraft items.

Organize

If you are a great organizer, offer to organize the homes and closets of people in your area.

Create a Product

Create your own products and sell them online for cash.
