Ways to Make a Playhouse Fit Your Child's Personality

Make it Enjoyable for Them!

Knowing about ways to make a playhouse fit your child's personality will make you the envy of those who think a playhouse is only a prefabricated set of wood, screws, and nails.

Taking the time to think of ways to make a playhouse fit your child's personality will put you in a better position to recognize the kind of personality your child really has.

Everyone hits a baseball in the same basic way, but a child's playhouse can be a place of imagination. In designing a child's playhouse, then, consider the following personality types and how the playhouse will ultimately be enjoyed.

The Extroverted Child

If your child has an outgoing or extroverted personality, it makes sense to make a playhouse that will be large enough to accommodate many friends.

The need for decoration isn't as important in an extroverted child's playhouse because the playhouse will mostly be used for more rambunctious activity.

To make a playhouse fit the extroverted personality of your child, then, you could attach a swing set or even make it a two story playhouse.

The point is that energetic children will enjoy a playhouse that is suited to this high energy level.

The Introspective Child

In contrast to being outgoing, your own child may have a personality that is more shy and introspective.

To accommodate such a child's personality, you can make a playhouse that is much smaller. This is because your child will have fewer friends who will enjoy the playhouse in quieter, more introspective ways.

A playhouse for the introspective child can be a place to read or an imaginary artist's gallery. This means that more attention to decoration is needed. For example, painting the walls will make the playhouse more enjoyable for the reticent child who will be reflecting upon them in their daydreaming afternoons.

Significantly, these descriptions of extroverted and introverted children are merely suggestions. They can be used as guidelines for recognizing the vast array of personality qualities into which children might fit.

Can you imagine having an outgoing son and an introspective daughter? How would you make a playhouse that they could share equally?

You can see the need to be creative. A playhouse shouldn't be prefabricated. It should fit a child's personality.

As you make a playhouse fit your child's personality, you are giving your child permission to play and be imaginative in ways that are unique and enjoyable for them.
