The summer season while bringing warm weather and sunny skies, also brings the illness known as dehydration. Dehydration is the excessive loss of water from your body. Once your body has lost approximately two percent of its water weight volume you will begin to experience the symptoms of dehydration. The first symptoms you experience will be intense thirst, dry skin, loss of appetite, headache, and dizziness. The following tips are the best way to prevent dehydration before it happens to you .

10.To prevent dehydration you can decrease the amount of caffeine you drink during the day . Caffeine makes you dehydrate faster by increasing the amount of urine output.

09. Another way to prevent dehydration and also achieve other health benefits is to eat more fruits and vegetables. Most vegetables and fruit is comprised of approximately 75% water.

08. By eating small amounts off food and increasing your fluid intake at the first sign of vomiting or diarrhea you can prevent becoming dehydrated.

07.When planning outdoor activities, you can arrange for them to take place in the early morning or in the evening when the sun is not as its highest point. When the heat is the highest it will raise your chance of becoming dehydrated.

06.While enjoying the backyard barbecues this summer it is best not to over indulge in alcoholic beverages. When you drink alcohol the water in your body will try to dilute in your blood stream which when coupled with intense heat can bring about the symptoms of dehydration quickly.

05.During warm weather make sure you are in a cool environment with air circulating. Dehydration will be prevented by not increasing your body temperature and causing you to sweat and lose fluids.

04. While outside in the heat you can decrease the risk of becoming dehydrated by simply wearing a brimmed hat to protect the crown of your head from the sun .

03. While in the sun, wear light colored cotton clothing . By wearing breathable clothes you can prevent dehydration by not increasing your body temperatures to high levels.

02. A tip that many health professionals swear is the key to dehydration prevention is to drink at least 18 oz. of water before becoming active or exposing yourself to the summer heat.

01.Water should always be ingested whether you feel thirsty or not . By the time your body feels like you are thirsty the first signs of dehydration have set in .

No matter which activities you choose to indulge in this summer make sure you enjoy them safely.
