Hair loss ranges from mild to moderate but no matter which one you are experiencing, you have to do something about it. Apart from other causes of hair loss, some hair losses are natural because as one gets older your hair begins to thin and fall out. However, the most important thing to do is try to find out what is causing it and then look forward to stopping it. The first thing or place you have to check as the cause of hair loss is you, I mean your health.

You can start treating your hair loss by eating a balanced diet that contains almost all nutrients such as protein, vitamins, minerals and others. Avoid foods that are high in carbohydrates and high in fats too. Eat plenty of protein rich foods, take essential vitamins and minerals as they help to prevent and treat hair loss. Drink adequate water to help keep your entire body including your scalp hydrated. Taking alcohol off your diet helps to prevent hair loss as it causes dehydration. Make sure to add iodine to the diet, as it helps to produce thyroid hormones that play an important role in both hair and body growth.

Make sure you take multivitamins, prenatal vitamins and vitamins such as B, C, D and E. These vitamins help to prevent hair loss, enhance hair growth and can also be gotten from foods. Foods rich in vitamins include fruits, green vegetables, nuts, and broccoli and dairy products. There are minerals that are also necessary for hair growth and they help fight against hair loss, they include calcium, magnesium, copper, zinc, and iron. Iron is very important to your diet as it helps to increases blood circulation to the scalp and stimulates hair growth. Sources of iron include red meat, unripe plantains and some other fruits like water melon.

Menopause brings about hormonal changes in women and can affect hair growth. Once you get to the stage of menopause, you should see your physician to prescribe some drugs that can help to balance the hormonal level in your body that way preventing hair loss.

Scalp massage helps to prevent hair loss by increasing blood flow to the scalp thereby making available nutrients to hair follicles that can aid produce healthy hair. Oils used for aromatherapy can also be used to massage hair to keep it moisturized. Massage daily to prevent hair loss and improve hair growth.
