Ways to Raise Money for Church

Sell Sermons on Tape and CD: Sermons are one of the easiest ways to raise money for church. They can be used by members who missed a particular sermon and want to be updated. These products can also be used by men and women who are not able to attend church due to ailing health. Offer sermons on both cassette tapes and CDs to raise as much money for church as possible. Cassette tapes are less popular but can be sold to church members to drive older model cars that do not have a CD player. This will allow members to replay sermons when traveling throughout the week.

Sermons can be priced as low as $3 but should not cost more than $10. They may sell more when there are guest speakers at your church. If you need recording or duplication services, contact a local DJ or audio professional to assist with producing sermons. Once you become familiar with the recording aspect, sermons can be duplicated using a regular stereo. However, you may also need a special recorder to duplicate sermons in the CD format.

Raise Money with Special Events on DVD: One-time events provide a great opportunity to raise money for church. Hire a professional to videotape any holiday events or anniversary gatherings at your church. Instruct the contractor to edit the footage into a nice video that showcases the highlights of these events. Special events are one of the ways to raise money for church among members and non-members. Many people visit new churches during special events. They also visit to support friends or family members who belong to your church. You can raise money by selling DVDs featuring special events to visitors and members alike.

Host a Choir Concert: Many churches have choirs that perform in concerts throughout the year. This can also be one of the ways to raise money for church and attract new members in the process. Get your church choir together and rehearse a small selection of gospel favorites. You can even add variety by showcasing one or two duet performances in the midst of group pieces. Plan a concert at your church and advertise it throughout the neighborhood. The money raised will come from admission or tickets sales. You could also hire a few unsigned gospel performers and musicians to put on a concert instead of the church choir. This is an alternative to the average concerts held at churches and may even bring in more money.

Make a Gospel CD: Gather a small selection of original gospel songs using help from the choir and members of your congregation. Get singers to perform these songs in a recording studio. Use these songs to make a gospel CD for your church. This music CD is one of the ways to raise money for church that does not require ongoing expenses. It can be sold for years on end at the church and in your community. You can also raise money for church with online sales if your congregation has a website.
