Mother's Day will soon be here. Everyone wants to do something special for their mother - after all, who is more important than good ol' Mom? Breakfast in bed. This is a nice treat, especially for young children to give their mother a much-needed break. Why not make Mom breakfast in bed?

Flowering plant. Flowers are a lovely gift, but at best they wind up lasting a week. But if you buy your mother a flowering plant, it will last through the spring and it will re-bloom next spring, which is a lovely gift. There are so many different types of flowering plants, check your local nursery.

DVD. If Mom has a favorite television show, chances are she has been too busy to keep up with all of the latest episodes. It would be a really nice gift to get her the latest season of her favorite television show on DVD so she can catch up with her favorite television show at her convenience. Or perhaps some funny movies or romantic comedy movies - whatever appeals to your Mom.

Manicure/pedicure. A wonderful treat is to buy your Mom a gift certificate to get a manicure and pedicure. There are so many salons around. This is the type of thing that many women enjoy, but they just never get around to doing for themselves. A manicure and pedicure usually only takes an hour, so this is a convenient type of treat for most women.

Facial or spa treatment. To really indulge your Mom, consider getting her a gift certificate for a facial or other type of spa treatment. There are so many different types of spa treatments to consider. Perhaps the best thing to do would be to let her select which treatment she would like to have.

Gift basket of treats. If Mom is a real chocoholic, then a basket of chocolate goodies might be a wonderful Mother's Day gift. Fruit of the month club. These days the fruit of the month club isn't just oranges or pears, there are many different types of fruits. They also have smaller portions available for smaller households who may not be able to eat an entire large box of fruit. This is a lovely gift.

Jewelry. What's that old saying? Oh yes, the nicest things come in the smallest packages. That could very well be true. Jewelry is a wonderful gift for Mother's Day.

Clothing. This is a great gift for a fashion conscious Mom. You could also consider getting Mom a gift card so she could go shopping for what she would like.

Musical card. If you haven't seen these, they are really cute and this will probably make your Mom laugh. There are now cards that have music in them. They come out at all of the holidays now, look in any major card section or drug store.

Candle. A scented candle, especially one scented with natural essential oils is a very nice gift. Many people like to use scented candles to add ambiance to their homes.

CDs. This can be a really nice gift. Many Moms like music and may not have gotten around to buying all of the CDs for music they like, they may still be listening to tape cassettes. Sometimes older people delay catching up with modern technology.

Magazine subscription. This is a gift that will come all year round. There are so many types of magazines out there, you could get your Mom a subscription for a hobby, an activity or perhaps an interest in travel.

Book. A great gift for your Mom is buying her one of the latest New York Times best sellers. You could consider getting her the book on audiotape so she can listen to it while she walks or does a machine at the gym.
