Ways to Show Your Boss How Much You Appreciate Them

Jordan Smith
There are many ways to butter up your boss and to let them know how much you appreciate them. Your boss should be a very important person in your life. Many times you take them for granted by engaging in gossip and allowing others to say mean and horrible things about your boss. They should be treated like a member of your family. We do not like any one saying bad things about our love ones, so our boss deserves the same respect. Someone who plays a significant role in your life should be treated as such. You should show them how much you appreciate them. A real good boss is hard to find so if you are one of the fortunate ones it is indeed OK TO BUTTER THEM UP. You do not need to wait until National Boss Day.

When you show your boss that he or she is very much appreciated you may encounter some resistance from your co-workers. You may hear people say, Oh they are brown -nosing or they are trying to get on the boss' good side. If you are sincere and it is coming from the heart it is not brown- nosing. Others will say you are trying to get ahead in the workplace, to this particular statement I would say treat your co-workers with the same respect. That always helps in the long run. When you show kindness not only to your boss, but to your fellowman, kindness will find you.

Here are a few ways to let your boss know you appreciate them

1. Pay them genuine compliments
2. If your boss is a sports fan purchase them season tickets to see their favorite team
3. You can purchase them a fruit basket
4. Give them a flower or a plant
5. Be a loyal employee
6. You can prepare them coffee for a week
7. Treat them to breakfast or lunch
8. A trip to the spa
9. A dinner for two with their spouse or friend
10.A book of movie passes
11.A best selling book
12.A motivational tape

These are just a few things you can do for your boss.

It is great to butter up your boss, but the best thing you can do for them is to butter up yourself as well. Seek to improve your skills and always do an excellent job by going the extra mile. Make sure that you are doing your job and doing it well. Volunteer to help other departments or team members, without anyone asking you or telling you. Always be dependable, trustworthy, professional and a good communicator. Every boss values an employee who can not only point out the problem, but one who is able to give a solution to the problem. You will not only look good, but you will make your boss look good also. When you do your job correctly and treat everyone with respect you will gain respect from your boss.

Always remember if your boss is happy, you will be happier and both of your lives will reflect that.
