Mateless Socks: What to Do with the Poor Soles

Things to Do with Mateless Socks

Too many socks are left widowed after losing a mate to the Dryer Monster. Don't send these lonesome loners to the Great Sock Drawer in the Sky. Here I give you some ideas on how to allow your mateless socks, fondly referred to as Super Socks, to go on with meaningful and fruitful lives despite their single status and the heartbreak they have endured.

Dusters

For those rather shy and quiet mateless socks, an occupation that will leave them feeling useful is just the ticket. The only thing required is the mateless sock itself. Oh, and some dusting spray. Super Socks clean up easily in the wash and are immediately ready to be used again!

Sock Puppets

What better rebirth for a mourning Super Sock than to be transformed into an object that will delight small children and adults alike? Take some of your lone socks and make a theatric troupe by sewing on buttons, thread, googly eyes and yarn hair. There, you have just made some very sad mateless socks and some very bored human beings quite happy!

Storage for Small Items

Many are the small items laying around every household with no proper places of their own. Take, for example, marbles and games of jacks. These might be favorite games of you or your children, but they certainly have no reason to be laying on the open floor. For one thing, if stepped on, they hurt like crazy!. For another thing, they can be easily kicked under an appliance, sofa or chair, never to be seen again. That is a tragedy that must be avoided. Pull out a Super Sock from you household supply and place these items within it. Tie the mateless sock loosely at the top and place in a junk drawer.

Travel Storage

Oftentimes when traveling, there are items that we want to take along that are too small or too delicate to be just tossed into a suitcase. Do you just leave them at home then? No! Do you go to the store to purchase a suitable container? No! Then what to do? Pull out a trusty and ever willing Super Sock! Drop rings, bracelets, whatever is small and needs it's own soft container for transportation into the mateless sock. Tie the sock gently at the top and place it in the suitcase with your other items.

There is no reason to send your mateless socks to an early grave simply because two have become one! By all means, make use of your mateless socks. Give them a reason to keep on going! Let your mateless socks know that you care and that they are still needed. Make them feel like Super Socks!
