Ways to Stay Busy While on Bedrest

Most women usually go through pregnancy without any problems and are able to stay active up until the very end of their pregnancy however there are some cases where doctors may put moms-to-be on bed-rest until they are ready to deliver. This is very common for those who are at risk for going into premature labor or those who may be at risk for other complications. While it be very frustrating, worrisome and tiring to be on bed-rest keeping busy is the best way to help the time go by quickly. Here are some activities to help keep one busy when they have been put on bed-rest.

Scrap-booking is an excellent way to stay busy while on bed-rest. For those who are new at it there are many different websites and books that can assist one in learning how to assemble their own scrapbook. Have a family member or friend get some supplies together as well as lots of pictures. Scrapbooks can be made for several different categories including holidays, special occasions such as graduations, weddings or births of other children. Another great idea for a scrapbook is assembling one for when the new baby arrives where all one has to do is put some pictures and the birth information in and it is done.

If one has not already done so, signing up for a movie rental membership can also provide lots of entertainment. Sites such as Blockbuster and Netflix allow people to make lists of movies they would like to rent and have many different types of memberships in all different price ranges. This is also an excellent gift idea to give to a pregnant mom who is on bed-rest. Many libraries also have the option to check out movies just like books. If the pregnant mom has family and friends who do not mind going back and forth to the library for her this is a very inexpensive way to stay busy.

Lastly going online and finding support can greatly help those who have been put on bed-rest and help to keep them busy. There are many online support groups of other women who are also on bed-rest where moms-to-be can talk and vent and find support for this frustrating time. Many of these online support groups often have fun activities and games moms-to-be can take part in that help fill up the hours as they await the birth of their baby.
