Ways to Store and Display Your Child's Artwork

Shannon Cotton
If you have a little artist in your home, you know how overwhelming the piles of children's artwork can become. While it may be impossible to keep every piece of paper your child has ever scribbled on, hanging on to your child's artwork is a great way to create keepsakes that your family will enjoy for years to come.

You don't have to keep your child's artwork in a box that will rarely be opened. There are a lot of great ways to store and display the works of your little artist. If you scan and store your child's artwork on your computer, it is especially easy to create fun items.

Greeting cards are a great way to save and share your child's artwork. You can use the images saved on your computer to create greeting cards at photo processing websites. Christmas cards, birthday cards, and cards just to say hello, are wonderful ways to share your child's artwork with loved ones.

Calendars are another great way to feature and save your child's artwork. These can also be made using online photo sites, but you can easily make them using your own printer, good quality photo paper, and a little creativity.

Adorning your Christmas tree with your child's artwork will create memorable keepsakes that you can enjoy year after year. These can be professionally done, but there are plenty of inexpensive options for making your own keepsake Christmas ornament. An easy way to do this is to cut out objects that your child has drawn, or make Christmas-themed shapes out of a page full of scribbles. Then just laminate the ornament and add a string.

Your child's artwork can also be placed on t-shirts, purses, hats, ties, and many other objects. Websites such as Zazzle allow you to upload your own image and print it on a vast array of items. These customized items are nice for gift-giving, or creating your own personal keepsake.

Making a book of your child's artwork is a wonderful way to organize and store their creations. You can make the book as simple or extravagant as you like. Professionally created books can be created online, or you can simply use a photo album. This solves the problem of crumpled up, deteriorating paper that you would otherwise face in a few years.

You can purchase inexpensive frames and display your child's best artwork in his room, or any other informal room of the house. A game room or play room can be livened up nicely using your child's creations.

There are countless options for storing and displaying your child's artwork. Using these tips, and some of your own ideas, you can create unique collections of your child's work that will last for years to come.

You can store, upload and share your artwork on www.mykinderartist.com and it's all free. You can even edit them. Just make sure they are digitized (scan them or take a picture of them).
