Are your closets and attic over flowing with unwanted, unused goods? Maybe your kids have grown out of clothes, toys and baby accessories. Than maybe it is time you have a yard sale and turn those unwanted goods into real cash. Would you like to have empty closets and a full wallet? I have been turning our unwanted items into cash every year. We hold a yard sale and then use the money to go on an end of the summer trip. The cash we make is used for our family fun trip and we do not have to take any money from the household money.

Are you too interested in selling your goods and turning your unwanted goods into some serious cash? Than follow some of these easy steps to have a successful yard sale.

First go though closest, attic, cellar, drawers, cabinets and garages. Collect all items that you haven't used in the past year. Most likely if you haven't used the items in over a year than you actually won't get to it. Kids items are big yard sale grabbers so be sure to go through items that your children have outgrown and will not need. This is a great way to do spring cleaning. You will see a big difference as you clean out the drawers and closets. All the emptiness will leave you with the feeling to clean.

As you clean for the spring plan for the fall. You can get rid of more items such as clothes closer to fall. As fall arrives your house will be cleaned and the yard sale will be on and ready to get rid of major items and make major cash.

Having a garage is a big plus but not always available so get ready for rain. As you have the date set you want to keep the sale on (rain or shine). So have a way to cover and keep your items protected and safe from the rain.

Advertise in many different papers, places signs in store windows, on telephone poles and various places. Have brightly colored poster board with the time day and directions or arrows pointing the way to your sale. Place a brightly colored sign outside your sale so there is no confusion.

Clean all items and make your items look new and attractive. As the customers see the items you have for sale they are more likely to grab items that look new or like new. Hang clothing and neatly display items on a table with prices easily displayed with know doubt on how much things costs.
