Telephone Calls: We talk to my senior citizen dad everyday on the telephone, sometimes twice a day. During our telephone conversations with my senior citizen dad, we talk about many different subjects. Occasionally my senior citizen dad asks us to help him by placing various telephone calls for him, such as to make a doctor's appointment, or to call a store to ask various questions, etc. Placing these telephone calls for my senior citizen dad is one way that we help him even though we live at a distance. Our weekend telephone conversations are much longer than weekday telephone conversations because our cell phone plan and my senior citizen dad's cell phone plan offer free unlimited weekend minutes.
Looking up Some Information on the Internet: From time to time my senior citizen dad asks us to help him by looking up some information on the internet for him. One way we help is when he hears a news story on the television and asks us to go online to get more information about it. Some of the other information he asks us to look up on the internet includes recipes, television show details, etc.
Helping to Write a Letter: Sometimes my senior citizen dad needs to send a letter to someone. My sister, who visits my dad almost everyday, will call me on the telephone to ask for my help to write the letter. My senior citizen dad will tell me what type of letter needs to be written. We discuss the details of the letter and then with my help, my sister will write the letter for my dad. Helping to write a letter is another way that we help my senior citizen dad even though we live at a distance.
Filing out Forms: My senior citizen dad occasionally needs help to fill out various forms. Once again my sister will call me on the telephone so that she can fill out the form with my help. Helping to fill out various forms for my senior citizen dad is one more way that we help him even though we live at a distance.
Visiting as Often as Possible: We try to visit my senior citizen dad as often as possible. During these visits we help him as much as possible. Some of what we do when we visit my senior citizen dad includes keeping him company and going shopping with him. Sometimes we even make a special visit to accompany my senior citizen dad to a doctor's appointment.
We are always happy to help my senior citizen dad, whether on the telephone or in person.
