Ways in Which We May Make Our Spouse Sick, According to Dr. Oz

Linda M. McCloud
Recently, Dr. Oz (From the popular Dr. OZ television show, ABC) did a segment on ways in which we may make spouse sick. Many television watchers were very interested in this segment, especially because of the flu season being upon us. What is worse than one family member becoming sick and then passing it along to the rest of the family? As a married woman, I always tried my best to keep my sick germs to myself and my husband did the same. However, I was sure I had lots to learn on the subject. Here is what I learned.

A Couple Shouldn't Share A Bed When One Is Sick

If one partner is sick, one needs to leave the bed. Sleeping together is a fast way to catch each other's germs.

This makes sense. One can easily roll over next to the other and breathe on one another while sleeping, without realizing what is happening.

However, most couples will not want to separate when one is sick.

A Couple Shouldn't Share A Bathroom

When one is sick, their bathroom harbors many germs. If the rest of the family could use another bathroom this is the perfect solution to help keep germs in one area. However, most families do not have this luxury. Those who do, say that they never wish to share a bathroom with their spouse, healthy or other wise.

When One Has The Flu, He/She is Contagious For 7 days

Even if you feel well, you are still contagious for seven days after feeling better. Steer clear from your spouse and the rest of the family.

The Fastest Ways To Spread Germs Are Kissing And Coughing

Skip the kissing while sick. Cover your mouth when coughing. Don't spread your bacteria.

Three Ways To Keep From Getting Sick

1. Wash your hands a lot

2. Use antibacterial gel when you can't wash your hands

3. Eat healthy and take your vitamins. This will help build up your immune system.

When The Female Partner Has A Yeast Infection Both Partners Should Use The Medicated Creams

If a female has a yeast infection, her male partner should also use the medicated cream that is prescribed to her. This is to ensure that she does acquire it again the next time they have sexual intercourse.

What Is The Best Way To Eliminate Urinary Tract Infections

The easiest way to prevent urinary tract infections is to urinate after intercourse. This helps to wash away any bacteria.

The Item That Has The Most Germs In Your Home Is Probably Your Phone

Use a disinfectant wipe to clean it on a regularly basis and even more so when someone in the household is sick.

It can be hard to keep from spreading your germs to your spouse. But if you both take some precautions you don't have to share everything, especially the common cold bug or the flu.
