WDW Magic Kingdom: Adventureland

Jon Sugi
The main attraction in the Walt Disney World (WDW) property is the Magic Kingdom. There are many reasons people flock to this park each day. One might be the abundance of family friendly rides, or the feel of Disneyland mixed with Florida. For whatever reason a traveler wants to get the best out of their vacation right? Well this will be the layout for Adventureland and its attractions.

Adventureland: Swiss Family Treehouse, The Enchanted Tiki Room (Under New Management), Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. This is the lineup without shops and restaurants in the Adventureland area. Swiss Family Tree house is a standard walk through attraction. Basically you can walk through at whatever pace you please. There is not too much to see in the tree house but the view over the park is rather neat. The Tiki room is a show with Iago (Aladdin) and Zazu (The Lion King) as your hosts. The show is very much different from the original Walt Disney's Tiki Room.

I personally didn't enjoy the show as much as the original. The Jungle Cruse is a classic Disney attraction and should not be missed. I will say if you have been on this ride and only have a day to visit the park, you can take this ride or leave it. Pirates of the Caribbean is a boat ride just like the Jungle Cruse. This ride takes you through the life of a pirate. This ride also has additions in relation to the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise. Captain Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones, and Captain Barbossa are in the ride. And finally Magic Carpets of Aladdin are basically another version of the Dumbo flying ride. You ride a carpet in a big circle and can go up and down.

The big draws for Adventureland are Pirates, Magic Carpets and on some days Jungle Cruse. Pirates is the biggest draw because of the name mostly and the fact it is a long, cool and comfortable ride. Magic carpets are popular with younger travelers and appeal to their speed. Be prepared for long lines at Carpets since their load times are extremely slow. Jungle Cruse is a gamble on any given day. People love the nostalgia of this attraction and then some days stay away from it. Generally the lines are medium to short.

Adventureland is as the name implies. The ride count is low and so are the shop and restaurant counts. The best drink on property is supposed to reside in this land. The Dole Whip, I have not tasted this but I have heard many people speak very well of it. I have to say Adventureland is just a bridge to to other lands in the park. I will suggest Pirates for all ages and a must ride for any Disney fan. Other than that Adventureland can be skipped or not, it all depends on the person, family and day.
