We Need a Change

This topic is something every citizen in India must think. Each one of them may have their own opinions to share about this topic. In general this topic is to analyze how we can bring India from a Developing country (For so many decades) to a "Superpower nation". Should we wait till 2020 for our country to become a superpower??? Are working towards this goal??? Lets us see the areas where India is getting retarded and the improvements or changes that can be made. This article is to share my views and not to blame anyone regarding today's situation.

WHERE IS THE PROBLEM?

Instead of giving an individual answer for this I decided to take a survey as WHERE INDIA IS LACKING??? What is stopping our nation to become a "Developed country" at least??? The answer I got from most of the people is "Corruption" at first but the cause of corruption is of course "POLITICS". Even though "corruption" and "politics" are two different words, the politicians of India have interconnected these two words and now both carry the same meaning. If this condition prevails in future India will not be a "Superpower nation" instead it will be called "LAND OF CORRUPTION".

A recent study shows that India is topping the list for having maximum amount of black money invested in Swiss Banks which is $1500 billion approximately. Even though the officials of Swiss bank are ready to let out the account details if the Indian Government permits them why isn't Indian government responding for this??? Have anyone any seen any TV channels creating an awareness regarding this??? The answer for this is obviously a big "NO". What is the reason for this??? It's quite simple'"even the media channels are owned by politicians!!! Every time we turn on the TV we see each channel singing praises for our "corrupted politicians".

Being in politics is like playing a "mind game"!! To become a politician one should know how to play with money and most important of all is "play politics". Today's politicians who don't have any idea of where to spend their money have landed into the corporate world -- They have started owning many companies, media channels etc. If this condition prevails, in future our India on the whole would be auctioned to other foreign countries by our great politicians!!!

In spite of Corruption being a major reason there are also other areas which needs to be improved such as agriculture a major backbone of Indian economy, police misconduct, development in rural areas and next important area where India is losing its significance is "Hospitality". Even though India being very famous for its attractive and famous tourist spots, people from other countries hesitate to come because of many incidents such as petty crime, passport theft and the most horrible " rape against foreigners". I would like to share a horrible incident at this part.

On 15th September 2007, two Japanese women came to visit some tourist spots in India. They initially landed in Jaipur to visit some places there and on 18th of September they moved from Jaipur to Agra where a horrible incident happened. Agra is the most popular tourist spot in India till today because of TAJ MAHAL which is one among seven wonders all over the world. In Agra they got introduced to two guys, out of which one guy was fluent in speaking Japanese. Two guys slowly befriended them and offered them alcohol. After offering alcohol the two Japanese women were kidnapped and taken to a place where the two guys raped them. After 5 days of captivity on 23rd of September the two women were gang raped by more than 5 people.

This is not the only incident there are many other incident like this happening all over India which has raised big question mark in terms of "Hospitality in India"!!!.

WHAT CAN BE DONE?

Being an Indian something has to be done or some action must be against all these problems. The first important step to be taken being a citizen of India is we have to create some kind of awareness regarding the black money investments in Swiss banks. The media channels must take this issue seriously and bring it to limelight in some form of survey or in the form of writing to some higher authorities so that the politicians may have some kind of fear. Some important set of rules that can be added in the field of politics are "AGE CRIETERIA", the minimum age to enter into politics should be between 21 to 25 and a RETIREMENT AGE CAN ALSO BE FIXED. He/she should not be in politics after completion of 50 years. The next rule is the "Educational Qualification". He/she should be a graduate and strong communication skill in English must be mandatory. Here speaking in English is mandatory because in spite of "Hindi" being our national language speaking in English is important in all aspects. After He/she is being voted to become a politician yearly once a separate department must calculate and maintain their asset details. If there is any illegal transaction found immediately the particular politician must be questioned regarding this.

The law and order in our country must become strict and the punishments for certain crimes like sexual harassment, corruption and drug trafficking must be made severe or even "Death" can be a punishment for all these crimes. Some steps should be taken to maintain a neat and clean India; development in roadways can also be done. Police misconduct must be also be monitored by an external force and actions must be taken against them.

CONCLUSION:

Even though there many areas where we need improvement I have listed some of the most important problems of today which needs a solution to be taken. If the necessary steps are taken against all these problems India in future will be the only nation which will be called a "Corruption Free" nation. Why wait till 2020?? Being a citizen of India let's work towards this goal and make India a "Superpower nation" in all aspects before 2020... Jai hind!!!
