We May Now Know Who Killed Chandra Ann Levy

Around May 1, 2001 a girl we all know as Chandra Ann Levy was killed. About a year later in Rock Creek Park, Washington, D.C. her remains were found. Close to eight years later the police may be making an arrest in this case. Who killed Chandra Levy has been the question for years. In fact although the police never definitively had a reason to call it a murder it was named a homicide.

The Levy family had set up a website asking that anyone with information respond anonymously and they would ask their permission to contact the person who e-mailed. Nothing panned out from their website.

Levy who would now be almost 32 was romantically linked to Gary Condit the married congressman from California. Although he said he knew nothing about her disappearance or death he did admit to having an affair with Chandra. Condit was never formally a suspect but the case was enough to be named as the reason the Democrat was defeated in 2002. At the time of her murder Levy was 24 and had just finished a government internship at the Federal Bureaus of Prisons in Washington, D.C.

We now are being told that the man the police have asked to get an arrest warrant for is already behind bars in California. Ingmar Guandique age 27 is an immigrant from Salvador. He was arrested and convicted of assaulting two women in the very same park where Chandra Levy's remains were found - Rock Cree Park. The two women were jogging and minding their own business. Guandique is serving a ten year sentence. It seems that Guandique had already been investigated by the police for Levy's murder. Guandique, 27, is an immigrant from Salvador. Most likely after his arrest he will be flown to Washington, D.C. to be charged with the murder.

Another inmate claimed that Guandique told him that he was Chandra's killer but Guandique we think told police that although he saw Chandra in the park several times he did not kill her.

Robert and Susan Levy, Chandra's parents, live in Modesto, California. They had been told by the police that there had been a break in the case.

Interesting, although I still suspect Gary Condit was behind it.
