A Small Town in Saskatchewan Canada Tells Their Story

M.V. Asid
Maidstone is a small quiet community near Saskatchewan, Canada which has been the hotspot of several UFO sightings over the years.

According to The Ufology Research Institute located in Winnipeg, there have been 736 sightings across Canada. Saskatchewan reported 98 percent of the UFO sightings with Maidstone reporting over half of them.

TheStarPhoenix interviewed a federal employee that did not reveal his name for fear of losing his job. The man has had several UFO sightings through the years. He drew picture after picture of various UFOs he has seen since he was a child. The first one was when he was six years old, it was a rocket shaped craft, he said "I tried to get my mother's attention but by the time I did the craft was gone". Several years later while driving he spotted a barrel shaped object with a panel and two lines down the side that moved very slowly. Unfortunately, he did not have any witnesses during those two sightings. However, the next sighting was different. Again, while driving this time at night he and a friend of his noticed bright lights that were reflecting off their truck. He stopped the truck and both of them jumped out and watched the two bright lights. The lights came together as one then became smaller and disappeared.

Another former Maidstone resident, Barb Campbell has had several UFO sightings during the past three years. The sightings varied from a high-speed fireball to a triangle shaped object that hovered over Maidstone last summer. She and her daughter both had a sighting one night as they sat outside watching the stars. Campbell said, "A bright light appeared going from southwest to northeast and grew brighter and larger and was flying as high as a helicopter." She continued to say that it was round, she heard no sound, and there was a yellowish white light that glowed from underneath the object. She even tried to communicate with the object by yelling and waving her arms but no reaction. Shortly after that, the object went out of sight.

She is not the only one; Campbell has talked to several others who have had UFO sightings. This has made Campbell very determined to find the underlying cause of this and find out if it's the military or is there some other explanation. As a result, Campbell has founded the Saskatchewan Provincial Paranormal Research Centre (SPPRC) at www.spprc.org. This is where she and several other Saskatchewan residents record their UFO sightings.

"People are afraid to report UFO sightings for fear of being called crazy which is ashame because the more people tell their stories the more we will get to the truth." Campbell says.

Maidstone is divided with those that have never had any UFO sightings at all. Caroline Smith employed by a seniors lodge in Maidstone has never seen one however, she feels it may be because she is inside a lot and never has the chance to go outside and look up.

A local high school student Jenna Wall has never had any UFO sightings either and does not know anyone who has.

Ken Reiter used to think people who talked about UFO sightings were crazy however, after a visit to a U.S. based science centre he has changed his mind. Reiter saw an exhibit that talked about three documented sightings almost identical within seconds of each other. All three sightings were miles apart from each other. Reiter says, "Now THAT makes you think."
