We have to realize that our participation is essential to nominate a government that will work for our well-being. Electing to ignore our constitutional right to designate people for public office allows the government to govern ignoring that they are there to serve us. They govern to fulfill their partisan aims and to pay back to those that supported them.
We have decided to ignore all the signs that our elected officials are governing to satisfy their personal and partisan agendas.
Make no mistake if we do not do nothing to correct this, soon we will be joining the countries that are in need of foreign assistance trough the globalization program.
The government has set many traps to keep the citizens of this country from voting during elections day. The fear factor, taxes, welfare, the justice system, shrinking the middle class, unions, health care, immigration, social services, community organizer, abortion, religious rights, drug enforcement, just no name a few.
Every year that passes, our minds are too clouded with the stress that the rat race of our daily living brings along. We, as good couch potatoes have chosen to ignore the real facts that affect our lives; instead, we live a soap opera life. Our lives are a copycat of every TV show available. We go in shopping sprees just as shown on the cable ads.
We have lost the punch that the first Americans had. Immigration is a factor. We are such a blend of races that the process of assimilation into our culture is not present; our identity as Americans is in disarray. Our priorities are in the wrong place.
We are extremists, or we go to the left, or to the right. Very few chose to be in the middle, which is the practical way.
When we talk about religion, we are fanatics, we do not live, and let others live, we have to impose. Same thing in politics, we are democrats, or republicans or independents or whatever we can come out with that is never the best for us.
Remember the time when everybody admired us. Well that is gone. Look at the example that the life of late Senator Ted Kennedy, he had everything that a good American should have. His public life should be model to follow to regain our lost identity that made us real Americans that fought for what they believe and were the force that moved the world.
