we are the people of the river delta
we go back far as time go
we sing songs of earth tones
we got names the wind knows

we are the people of the cypress swamp
we the people who fly
we the shade and song of night
we got soul and sacred light

we are the people of destiny
we the shade of history
we the ancient mystery
we kings, queens, in ancestry-mighty
mighty people, we
