Tale of the Writer's Block
This is the story of John and Jane, who loved to write
Every day from morning 'til night
They wrote about anything and "everything under the sun"
It wasn't always easy, but, it was lots of fun
On any given day there was something new to compose
Editorials, guides, poetry and prose
After awhile John took a break
He decided he'd rather watch TV, "hang out", or jump in the lake
But, Jane kept going, "steady as a rock"
That is until she got a case of the dreaded writer's block
She always said "This may happen to others, but not to me"
She ignored the signs and remained carefree
Her ideas were coming slower. She could hardly write a pun
At last, she thought she had something new!! Only to realize it had already been done
This continued for quite a long time
She couldn't write a word, a verse or a rhyme
She finally asked everybody she knew what she could do
They all said "Write about something that you know
Your hobbies, your life or the places that you go
Just make sure that you write, even a few words a day
You'll soon find that everything is okay"
So she wrote about writer's block. It was something that she knew
And what about John? Well, he turned kind of blue.
He forgot it was December when he went for a swim
But, I won't tell you more. I'll leave it up to him
