Everybody who had ever went to the arcade or who had ever played such arcade port franchises like Samurai Shodown, Battle Arena Toshinden, Killer Instinct, the 3D Mortal Kombat games, or Soul Calibur will believed that there is a difference between weapon-based combat and one-on-one fist fighting games. For one thing, weapon based combat games are more strategized and more vioence than the normal one on one fist combat but when compare to real life fighting they are something else and here's why...
How It Feels Different From Fist Fighting Games
If you play Namco's Tekken arcade fighting games, chances are you'll likely see each character beating the hell out of each other and yet you don't feel pain at all, its seem much like a normal fist fight, no blood dripped, no cuts and clashes, no head ripping, but once you go for Namco's alternative fighting title, Soul Calibur(SC), you'll see new devastating new way of fighting but in a more violence way, even though SC doesn't feature blood and gore like most fighting games and had the same smooth gameplay similiar to its fist style alternative, one thing hasn't change, it still look and play more deadly than Tekken ever was. Having to see a character getting impale by his own sword(Yoshimitsu) will make player feel very painful, some may not even care to look at the move, having a character whipping the other character up and under is so much to bear to even look at, also seen a character hitting the other with a stick may also make other feel the pain of punish similiar to when someone is hitting you with a stick. Even when you compare weapon based fighters like SNK's Samurai Shodown(SS) to the more fist style of Capcom's Street Fighter(SF), SS make pretty much every players feel the pain as they played, seeing a character got his or her body got cut in two, seeing his or her neck got slice with blood gushing out, even watching that cute Japanese gal Nakoruru taking her opponent down on the ground and stabbing them on their chest with that sharp knife could make you feel like you just got stab yourself, even when seeing her doing this same stab in the mixed arcade fighting title, Capcom vs. SNK 2,where the more fist fighters like Ryu and Guile are in could very well lead Capcom players to a whole new level of pain and suffering.
Brutal Violence Compare to Painful Violence Both in Videogames and Real Life
Fist fighting games are what I coinsidered games that features brutal violence because they often delivered the feeling of having to see character fighting it out hand to hand man to man in one on one combat, there are no need to censored anything. Watching a brutal combat match is quite enjoyable as well as satifying because there is much to say, wow! to than there are to turn down. It really feels like a heated match like the more realistic sport match where two fighter fight until one got tired with sweats are wetting their head and taking their breath off. Now weapon based fighting games are what I considered games that features painful violence because they mostly delivered the feelings of fear and pain to the viewers and gamers alike, they are the games that won't make viewers say wow!, but instead maybe, oh my gosh! since the violence are too intense to even watch, seeing one character stab the other in the chest can feels very painful to watch even if it's just a demonstration. Compare that to real life fighting, weapon based fighting in real life could very well lead to death compare to the ones in videogames, fist fighting in real life, however, are more brutal and doesn't often lead to demise or death since a match in real life often ended clean or rough just like in videogames. If a character got hit by a fist in videogames, he will still be active and playable, if you got beat in real life in a fist fight, chances are you'll likely still be alive, compare that to weapon fighting, if a character got impale by a sword in a videogame he is still active and playable, but if you got impale by a sword in real life, chances are you're dead, this is proof that weapon based fighting are not the same as fist fighting and when compare to real life violence, they are more deadly than the more hardcore fist fight.
Which Violence Would You Prefer?
After knowing the differences between the two violences in both videogames and real life, I had to say if you are the hardcore gamers who just want to enjoy a good clean battle with no blood, no pain, and no clash can go for the more safe and fair one on one fist fighting games, but if you are the gamer who want to do and see the more violence kind of fight and doesn't mind if even a simple stab could hurt, you are welcome to enter the weapon based arena of fighting games, but one thing to remember though don't ever(and I do mean ever as in never) try them in real life otherwise it could very well and I do mean very well lead you to a tragic end if you do.
Note of Cautious: This article is just a comparison article observe from many violence fighting seen in both videogames and real life, I will not be responsible for any wrongdoing or tragic accident that would occur to anyone who are stupid enough to try these violences in real life.

Ive never seen so many spelling & grammatical errors in my life. My cat walks on the keyboard and composes more legible material. Take this offline and kill yourself like Yoshimitsu.
