Web Browsers: Making High-Tech Strides

Do you ever really give thought to which web browser you're using? During a recent tutorial of Flock, the Social Web Browser, I seriously considered what browsers have to offer these days.

Flock specializes in social integration. If you're one of the millions that uses Myspace or Facebook, imagine being able to keep all of your friends in sight with the Flock browser friend space margin.

Flock saves your passwords for one click login to any social site you'd like to access - all on one home page. So every time you want to check in with your friends, it's literally one click away.

This social media web browser also features one click away news sites - also on the homepage. This tool is probably the best suited for the professional that wants to stay ahead of the curve by monitoring upcoming trends at a glance. It's quick easily digestible news, pictures, friend updates, tweets, youtube videos, blogs, photo and story sharing.

The most useful features are their blogging tools. Bloggers can write within the browser, save their work within the browser. The browser also can save passwords to your blog site, whether it is Blogger, WordPress and many others.

This one click access to my blog has proven quite useful. With one click and drag of my mouse I can broadcast my blog to any one in my friend margin or potentially broadcast to many more.

What kept me on the fence however, was actually downloading a new browser. At the time I was using Mozilla and loving it. I'm a fan of Mozilla's spell check features and security add-on options. However, I discovered that Flock is a Firefox based web browser. It has all the features that Mozilla offers.

So I downloaded it and removed Mozilla, to give it a test drive. It's packed with high tech features such as clicking and dragging news stories or YouTube videos into the friend's margin - to share.

I'm a young professional and need to perfect multitasking. The ease of the all in one page access to friends, work and news is convenient and saves time.

As I snooped around their functions, I noticed that Flock offers parental controls as well. So its safe for all users. From one web pro to another, it's worthy of a trial spin.
