First of all, Hostgator's support is supreme. At the time, I was new to the world of website and didn't have the slightest clue on how I was going to develop the site or even get it running. I knew one thing though. If I purchased hosting, it would give me the jump i needed to go ahead and get the site up. Upon using Hostgator, I had tons and tons of questions about what hosting was and even some that weren't related to hosting.
I did the only thing I thought of. I contacted HostGator live support, and within two minutes, there was an English speaking operator on the other line. They walked me through the entire process of setting up DNS servers, propogation and more. (If you don't know what those are, they'll tell you!) I could NOT be happier with the support at hostgator. If something goes wrong (which hardly ever happens), they are there immediately to fix it. It's actually quite incredibly and probably very costly for them to keep operators there for you 24/7.
Secondly, HostGators Cpanel program is a lifesaver. If you know about hosting a website, you know you've got to have an FTP program to transfer files to your host so they can be shown on your website! Well...that used to be the cast. HostGator's Cpanel program completely takes the place of my old FTP program. you just log in at http://mysite.com/cpanel and you're ready to go. Another good thing about Cpanel is that since it's browser based, it can be updated and files can be uploaded from anywhere in the world.
Hostgator's hosting plans are also quite robust for the cost. The amount of storage space you get on their servers for their $7.95 a month hatchling deal is very liberal.
I could sit here and babble on about hostgator all day (love you guys!), but now that you've heard my side, check them out for yourself and see if they're what you're looking for. Here's the link to their website: HOSTGATOR. Thanks and even if you don't go with hostgator, I hope you find your hosting solution! Have a good day!
UPDATE: Also, right now Hostgator has a coupon going on! Enter this code to get your first month of hosting for 0.01 cent. I don't know how long this is going to last though. You might want to take advantage of it soon. 35off
