Web Sites that List Freelance Writing Jobs

Earn Money with Your Words

K T Solis
If you are a writer, you are probably always on the lookout to make money with your talent as a wordsmith. On the web, you can find several websites that post freelance writing jobs. You can usually apply for the jobs by emailing a resume, a cover letter, and a writing sample. Competition is fierce for work-from-home writing jobs, but it is worth the effort to apply. The following is a list of websites that regularly posts freelance writing jobs.

One website listing writing gigs is called writersrow.com. A freelance writer by the name of Deborah Ng has a writing job blog. Writers in search of freelance positions can browse through jobs Ng has discovered and posted on her site. Writers can also subscribe to receive email notices when the job blog has been updated. Many of the job postings link to the craigslist website, a site where you can find just about anything--not just writing jobs. Deborah Ng's blog also includes interesting information about her life as a writer and invitations to join in discussions about the writing life.

Another useful website is aboutfreelancewriting.com. The jobs listed on this site are often the same ones listed on Ng's blog. However, there are a few that differ. The site is easy to navigate. Just click on the link to the job that interests you, and you are sent to the original web page advertising the job.

Poewar.com is a useful website listing freelance writing jobs. Just click on the Freelance Gigs link, and you are immediately taken to a page which posts jobs such as freelance editor or proofreader. The job seeker clicks on additional links to view the original posting.

Sunoasis.com assists writers with links to jobs for freelancers. Ad agencies, magazines, websites, newspapers, and more are represented here on sunoasis. Once again, the links usually take you to craigslist where the position was originally posted.

Writersweekly.com is a freelance writing ezine that offers interesting articles and information for writers. Click on the Markets link and you will be greeted by writing markets and freelance jobs.

Chicagobookclinic.org is a website for writers. Its website states that the organization "encourages excellence in publishing by providing a platform for educational, social & professional interaction of our members." Click on the Jobline link to find occasional telecommuting writing jobs, regardless of whether you are a Chicagoan or not.

Freelancewriting.com is another site for writers hungry to make more money. Click on Career Center to find a page that lists jobs gathered from various other places on the web.

Of course, you can also write for Associated Content. This site does not list writing jobs, but it pays people to write articles about subjects that interest them. Writers who want to earn money for their work can submit articles through the site.

If you've always dreamed of working from home as a writer, investigate some of the websites mentioned above. Who knows? You may just find yourself scoring an interesting writing job that earns you some extra money--or even a full-time income.

Thank you so much for these links/sites. I will be checking them out and probably canceling my site where I pay and have not gotten any jobs. Why throw money at something that does not provide. Thanks again.
