Weber-Stephen Propane Grill: Good Reasons to Get This Grill

Jack Woods
Summer has finally rolled around and for the barbeque fans out there. It's time to roll out that high tech barbeque grill for a wonderful picnic experience! Of course, if you don't have a grill, then it's time to take a look at what the Weber-Stephen Propane Grill can offer you!

Let be frank; the really, really high tech grills can be a little intimidating what with all the knobs and settings, but the Weber-Stephen Propane Grill is one system that I found really easy to use and understand. Overall, I started with the 300 Weber-Stephen Propane Grill model, and it happens to be the largest. Quite a good model too, if I may say so. I had to do a little assembly for the cart, and that did take a little time. On second thoughts, you should get the grill cover too; it does save on quite a lot of the splattering when you cook. Really essential too, if you have children!

A few things I noted about the Weber-Stephen Propane Grill, however:

Overall construction
Build quality of the Weber-Stephen Propane Grill is really nice with the right weight. The grilling table in well designed but it could do with more spacing to accommodate more food. The grill plates are handy and durable along with the cart assembly that is made of metal and plastic combinations. The cart does have two side plates that look really lightweight, but surprisingly take up a lot of weight.

Fire starter functions
The Weber-Stephen Propane Grill does not have its own propane tanks, but when you install your own. it's easy to use. It has the classic push-button ignition, and a valve shutdown function. The fire does take longer to get started though, and you might need to restart the fire in five minutes to get a good flame going. According to the Weber-Stephen Propane Grill manual, running the gas for a minute is ideal but this does not always work either.

Grilling
Once you've set up the flame and the required heat, the process is easier with food turning out to be cooked just right. You can grill or broil as the temperature of the Weber-Stephen Propane Grill is adjustable. Just remember that this was the biggest model of the Weber-Stephen Propane Grill, so I could get quite a high temperature out of the machine. The surface area is also quite large, ensuring that a large amount of food cooked, and faster too. For novice-grillers who worry about charring food, the Weber-Stephen Propane Grill has two great adjustable burners, and a built in thermostat to help gauge cooking time and burner heat. But you should keep a food thermometer just in case. Stick to an average of about 21,700 BTU for the burners to ensure properly cooked, safe food

Clean up time
Cleaning of the Weber-Stephen Propane Grill is easy. All you have to do is wipe down the grill and scrape off all the charred bits to ensure that you have a clean appliance for next time round. The outer lid may get a little dirty, as it has a slightly textured finish. So, before you close up for the day, just wipe it down really well. The grill cover also ensures that the lid does not get stained with food grease. Don't clean the Weber-Stephen Propane Grill when it's still hot. Wait for its cool down, as the grill spacing is quite small and difficult to clean. Once the grill cools, you can easily scrape off the grease, and clean the grill for the next session.

Overall, the Weber-Stephen Propane Grill is well worth the effort and cost. But you may require smaller models and maybe different grilling surfaces, like cast iron ones. Do check with the manufacturers of the Weber-Stephen Propane Grill before you order though.
